after working 12 or so hours a day on hard warehouse concrete floors my heels are killing me by the end of the day. plus the fact that i very soon will be picking up a second job so i will be on my feet even more so. i just wanna get some opinions on who makes a comfortable shoe. i like running type athletic lightweight shoes.

I always like a light running type shoe too, but i find when i'm on my feet for a long time, the more supportive and cushioned the better.

I have a pair of Timberland work boots that i've pretty much beat of for the last year or so and they are still holding up great, and my feet don't hurt nearly as much as when i am on my feet on my new balance all day.

as long as your job doesn't require you to run, you should be fine.

I picked up some *gasp* Nike Air Max TL II last week. Wow. Lazyboy feeling shoes. I stand all day at work, I feel like I could stand all night in them. Much better than the Wallyworld steel-toed skate shoes I was wearing around the shop before.

I work at Modells, in the footwear department, if your going to be on your feet alot i would honestly recommend you looking into some Asics, they use a gel cushion in the heel or throughout the whole sole depending on what style you get, their probably one of the most comfortable shoes iv tired on, they vary in price but the more you pay the better/more cushion you get, thats my .02cents, if your looking into nikes, i would stay away from shox (i dont like them, but thats my opinion, some people swear by them) look into some nice air max series shoes, hoped that help

Look at Al Bundy over here. I've always liked skating shoes like DC or Adio, they feel really good but I'm sure a lot of people don't like the association with skating so they don't even consider them-

I'd suggest looking into getting some custom insoles made. In my case being on my feet all the time in combat boots reallly started to take a toll on my body, so I went an saw the pedobear... I mean podiatrist. (did i just say that ?) They made some custom insoles that spread the weight out more evenly.

Go to a (real) shoe store and get fit right. If you only have foot locker and other generic crap in your area, look for a running store that has a good shoe department instead, and ask for walking shoes. Our recommendations can give you a general direction, but your own foot structure (pronation, arch height, etc.) will make a huge difference in what's comfortable for those sorts of extended hours.

I've had good luck with Rockports, but those are generally more "adult casual" styles than athletic shoes. They also last forever, I have a beat pair of brown bucks that I still wear that I've had literally for 9 years and worn pretty frequently at times (they were my everyday shoe for the first 4 years or so). Right now I have a pair of docksider type shoes from them that have Reebok DMX built into the sole, they are quite comfortable and you can wear them all day.

Those insole inserts help, that's what I wore when I worked a summer as a waiter. +1 on New Balance.

Seriously? I've tried those on and they're like racing shoes, not much cush or support. Good for fast running but I can't imagine they'd be good for just working. But hey if they work for you...

I'm a die hard fan of Ecco shoes and boots and theres an Ecco store in the Kenwood Towne Center. Expensive, but I learned a long time ago, cheap shoes make your feet hurt. I tramped around Holland and Belgium in a pair of Ecco Receptors and after 22 hours my feet were the only thing that didn't hurt.

k-swiss' havent gone the way of asshat garb in this neck of the woods. Mostly, those jackholes are still stuck on their backwards and upturned visor hats. Its not the shoes you wear, its the assholes feet theyre attached to.

though I will only attest to owning only 1 pair of said shoes.. You wouldnt want to see the rest of my collection - Pumas all the way. Even if Ludacris is wearing the shit out of them - Im a REAL puma kid.

For Example:

I have pretty much the same shoes, have had em for a year and a half and walk at least 6 miles a day at work, everyday. I work on concrete floors and am standing all day long... I love these shoes, and they still look great! The stitching hasn't come undone at all, but the heals are getting pretty worn... Still the most comfy pair of shoes I have had.
