So i think my clutch master cylinder is on it's way out. The clutch doesn't like return all the way to the top and seems to require pumping to get it to stay up. So a) how do I know it's the master cylinder for sure? and b) if it is, how do I change it?

That sounds more like air in the line. When the master goes, I think it makes shifting difficult, and the clutch wont always disengage, and the car will grind when you try and shift.
