Here are some pics of the CF C900 hood straight from the mold. Man, after working with more modern hoods, this thing is huge!!!! Fortunately, I can now pic up the hood easily with two hands. My guess is that the skin probably weights less than 20lbs. Sorry about some of the attached pics. Obviously, I do better at cf then photography. I had to overexpose them so that you can see them better. I attached one in natural light so that you can see the correct color. Now about pricing. First, this is a very large hood in small quanties, not the 7 biazillion rice burner hoods made in China. So, when it become available, please don't expect some Ebay level pricing.

They look awesomely heavenly! Well done.

But I would not even want to hazard a guess at what it would cost to get one shipped to Australia! Apart from the logo at the front (my car doesn't have that) are all C900 hoods exactly the same or did they change slightly when the body shape was altered at the front with the 1986/87 models?

My 1983 900S can keep it's rusting, pitted steel hood for the time being....

Regards,

Craig.

there are 3 types of C-900 hoods. The prefered one is either a dual vent badgeless hood or a single vent badgeless hood. the dual vents only came on 79 and 80 model years. anything after 1984 should be "the standard" single vent with a slot for a hood badge.

Thanks very much for the info about hoods. I never realised there were double-vent types. I've only seen single-vent types to date on C900's.

A double-vent one would be good to have though the brake master cylinder, etc. might get a bit wet.

Is there any more news on the availability, pricing, etc. for these CF C900 hoods? It's been quite a while so just curious as my standard steel hood is suffering from bad rust fron inside the folded section above where the latch hook mounts!

I have a replacement here (the hood off the donor car that's in surprising pristine condition compared to the current one), but would ultimately like to get a CF one mainly because it won't rust.

Regards,

Craig.
