It is probably the starter. A neighbor used to have 9-3 with the same issue after he replaced the battery. I'll ask what he did to fix the issue tomorrow when I help him install the suspension from 4 Wheelonline onto his truck.
When you say 'no start' issues....it's not clear. Is the engine cranking but not starting?...or not cranking.
I can't see what it could have to do with the starter. Disconnecting the battery does nothing to the starter. unless
the neg connection is poor and remove-replace improves it. You haven't mentioned cable clamp and battery
Removing the wire is more likely to be taking some bias away from an electronic component. You don't want
sparking so try a range of delays on the neg removal from saya couple of secons to your 5 minutes.BTW do
you have ignition 'on; or 'off' when removing the neg lead?
As your post is nearly a year old....did you fix the problem?
