I have a 1993 CS. Lots of work done on this car over the last year with the last item a new thermal sensor for the cooling fan.
Just got the car inspected and drove it home and the car would not turn off. Turned the key to the off position and took out the key and the car was still running. Put the key back and put car in reverse, its a standard, and it turned off that time.
Scared to drive the car any more.

What is wrong and how expensive it the fix?

Over the last year.... new starter,Battery, fuel pump, front brakes and thermal sensor.

Change any light bulbs? Pretty common mistake to have a single pin 1156 in a 1157 dual filament socket and that will feed back on the brake wiring through the park light wires and can lock it on.

Could just be a worn-out ignition electrical switch portion. Did everything work normally when it kept running or did the radio etc turn off?

Car was just inspected and the mechanic told me he replaced the left rear brake bulb. I think the radio was off when the car continued to run but the light got dim?

I am going to check the bulb is the rear of the car when I get home.

Thanks for the advice.
