hey all. ive tried the search but nothing came up. I need to know how much brake fluid my system holds. I'm doing a flush and I'm not sure how much to buy.

I have a 2002 9-3 SE

thanks,
Ben

If you are doing a simple flush - 1 of the 32oz (big) bottles should be fine. If you have any mishaps (need to bleed extra or redo a corner) though you'll want more.

Since brake fluid is cheap I usually just buy 2 of the 32oz bottles. If I only use 1, either take it back or keep it to use later.
I always like to have multiple small bottles of fluid. You can always open a second bottle but the leftovers stay fresher.

This also - a little more expensive but it can be nice if you only need to use a little bit and opening a big bottle would be wasteful.
this is my first time doing brakes too. are you saying I need to open each caliper bleed valve and drain them individually?
Right.

It's not too hard, can probably search around the internet for some tutorials as it's not a Saab specific thing (bleeding the brakes).

Need to ALWAYS ALWAYS make sure you have fluid in the reservoir - if it runs out you have to bleed the whole system again.

You'll either need a pressure bleeder or 2 people, one to operate the brake pedal while the other opens and closes the bleed valve.
