Bodykits?

I really hate looking at my cars bumpers, they're all creased and ugly. I was wondering if any of the body kits that covered them, or if i could even fit one on my car, it's an '84 900T 4-door. i prefer body color bumpers anyway, so if there is anything out there, please let me know!

nothing I have ever seen covers the bumpers your car has, not even the pre 86 airflow kit did that. if your bumpers are really trashed, replacement or upgrade is pretty much your only option. if you wanted to "upgrade" them just find a post 87 in the junk yard that's not crashed and take ALL the front end parts along with the rear bumper. don't forget the bumper extentions! your car would look like an 87-93 900 model then, however personally I like the 79-86 look. you could always just swap the bumpers with some that are not all messed up.

I bought this body kit recently. Will get it next week.

Not sure which of my C900's it'll go on yet. I've had a lot of people say that they don't think it would look good on this 8T that I bought recently as well but for now I'm undecided.

The body kit is ultra-rare so since it was available here in Oz it was quite a good score IMHO. Does anyone actually have a C900 with one of these body kits fitted? I've never seen one in person but one of the SCCA members sent me a link to the website in Germany and some other pics as well.

anybody know where i can get the Heuschmid bodykit?
I've got no idea if there are any places that still sell them as a normal stock item (the one I got was just a fluke because the company that had it used to fit them to Saab's in the 80's and still had the one kit left over), but you can check out the Heuschmid website and get in touch with the folks to see what that can do for you.

I don't understand German so unfortunately without a way (that I know of - can Google do it?) to translate the site into English, I'm guessing at the way the content of the site fits together.

I'm really keen to find original documentation for the Heuschmid kit I acquired though - I'd be delighted to get it scanned and online too. I'm also trying to work out if the kit is missing hardware (I'm betting it is - there was very little supplied with the moulded parts), and work out what is needed. I won't be attempting to put any of the parts onto a car until I have everything needed to fit the kit - would be a shame to half-complete the job then get stuck.

For everyone who's interested, I've taken some pictures of the Heuschmid body kit laid out on the ground next to my 1985 900i. The pics have been made available to Paul Halliday who has a couple of Heuschmid-related web pages already online.

Craig.

PS. I hope everyone's having a fun Christmas day! I worked at 4.30 am today but I'm home now and it's hot! not going to be the high temps predicted but still warm enough. lol

Interesting kit on that 900...but I'd rather have the 99 in that second picture - with no trim and definatly no sort of body kit whatsoever...ohhhh sooooo clean (drool).

If you check the vendor forum, I believe I have accurate pricing for Erebuni kits. They will not fit your car though unless you do like someone else previously stated and upgrade your front end to the new headlight/grille scheme.

the white 900 in that pic has the uber rare pre-facelift airflow kit as far as i know, an actual saab accessory, but sooo freaking fragile there are practically none left, cept the madman at SOC05 that had a mint, complete one on his car, that he apparently got at a yard sale in sweden...brand new!

i have some bits and pieces left from one that was on a parts car i had but has since left, but theyre all cracked and broken, thats what always happens to em, theyre made out of a really brittle plastic.

that spoiler on that though...no idea, never seen one, pretty neat looking though.

and yeah, that 99...sweet

Yeah...I had(maybe still have?) an accessory booklet that has that pre-facelift listed and pictured in it! They are kinda cool, but I like the look of the pre-facelift SPG more (and they are much less fragile)!

yeah, i think i'm gonna pic up a pre-facelift SPG airdam, have someone copy it and modify the copy so i can use a FMIC

might not need to modify it at all, ive got an intercooler sitting here in my room that *should* fit behind the airdam, with minimal trimming, i should be fitting it in the next couple weeks since i need to get this damn notchback back on the road..tired of driving slow cars...so stay tuned

what kind of IC? i was planning on using a Viggen IC, their $150 brand new and have enough flow for an 8vT.

on another note: i saw a 2-door notch yesterday in my parking lot, i almost left a note asking if they wanted to sell it. However it was VERY rusty, if i see it again i'll take a closer look.

Craig,

I thought you might be interested in these photos:
Thanks very much for those Jon! They're great pics. I am still not sure which car of mine I want to put the Heuschmid kit onto.

As an aside, those of you who know about the Enduro will know it was an Aussie-only model and that only 12 were produced. Well I've been offered the chance to buy one but as luck would not have it, the timing is all wrong as I've just recently bought the 1983 8V turbo (which I bought less than a week before the offer of the Enduro came to me!), so I can't justify buying it, nor do I have the asking price (was originally almost A$10k but the seller is happy to accept $5k which includes a complete spare Enduro body kit)... :(

Now if I had a place to store it out of the weather (with no garage that's a bit tricky!), and the money to buy it, I'd accept the offer since it's in super condition despite being 25 years old. Apparently the seller had two (he and his wife had one each!) but one of them was sold to another SCCA member several years ago.

It almost makes me want to find a local industrial park with fairly new but cheap to rent warehouse units just to have a place to store some Saab's.
