Will those Hankooks hold up to AutoX events this summer? I have a bad habit of pushing my tires to the very limit. This year I will have 2 or 3 cars and a motorcycle to keep the miles off the Saab for once. :D

I've got the K110s on my S6, and my dad has them on his Corvette(which is modded to the tune of ~450hp). We both like them a lot. They are an excellent street tire, and would hold up fine to some autocross.

However, if autocross performance is your main goal, I'd probably step up to the Ventus R-S3. I have a friend who has them in 225/45/17 on his stage 4 ng900, and they are ridiculous in the dry. However, they are worthless in the rain, and downright dangerous below 40 degrees. And, tbh, that is exactly what you should expect from a tire like that. The K110's have actually surprised me with how good they do in the wet; they offer much better traction than I expected. They are also not bad down below freezing, but obviously they have NO business being driven in snow. So don't expect them to be a good winter tire either.

the sumi HTR ZIII 's i've had and they are really good for street all-around. however, the dry grip isnt up there vs pilot sports or s02's. and the sumis also arent as preogressive in breakaway feel. in other words, for autox id go with pricier rubber.

A few people I know have also run various sumi tires... none of them purchased tires from the manufacturer again. Many of the cheaper tires will not perform as well at their limit so yea like bruce states if you like going to/past the tires limit getting something a but better might be worth the extra money.

I think the Dunlop Direzza many use for auto x or track days. I tried a set & they get extremely loud as they wear but are cheap & pretty sticky.

When I ordered my wheels/tires last week, local tire store beat tirerack's price. They matched the price on the wheels & beat the tire price by $10 ea, & they were on sale. Another store wanted $80 more per tire then what tirerack wanted.

The Direzza's wear terribly and are extremely noisy in a very short period of time. My ex gf's father had them on his 540i M sport and they only lasted a few months before they were junk. I would not recommend those tires to anyone for street use. Track use, fine. Hands down the loudest tire I have ever heard. You couldn't even think straight while driving.

yes..... for auto x I think they would be ok..... be it good or bad I couldn't hear my wife talk in my car above 45 mph after only a few thousand miles

best bet is to have a track set of tires.... & a street set of tires

starr specs or dz101s? my last set of tires were direzza dz101s, and while i feel they are fairly comparable to the hankook v12 evos, i prefer the hankooks. the hankooks definitely have the edge in the wet, IMO

I think they were the star spec's..... the better/stickier of the two
