Picked up a Laser Red 2006 9-3 Aero SC. Anyone from back in the day still active (Palmer, Tweek, Drew, etc?)

I have been really into c900's lately but I haven't had a Saab in 5 or so years.

How far back you want to go with us? I am not "active" here so much as in my shop these days ;-)

Nice one! I've always had a soft spot for Laser Red (and the 9-3 SportCombi in general). Good to see some activity here.

Thanks IronJoe. Been slowly getting it some love. Got a spare set of valve covers and upper intake from a local Saab group member with a built B284 running on MaxxECU from his spare motor that I’ve been polishing. Valve covers are done and upper intake is in progress. Getting a few other items from him that can be polished as well.

All the polishing is being done by hand so they still have some factory casting imperfections and dimples that won’t come out unless I go back over with power tools but I like the character it imparts.

Everything is done by 600->1500->2000->3000 grit wet sanding followed up with metal polish.

About done with the upper intake manifold. Just needs to dry and then have metal polish applied and buffed.

Mad respect to those that paint for a living. First time I’ve ever tried to spray paint anything so I’m definitely going to have to go back over this and wet sand with 3000 grit again or higher to get the clear layer smooth. Hoping the valve covers come out a little better but for now it’ll all be sealed up from oxidation.

Valve covers came out a little better but will also need a wet sand to get it back to looking like the mirror finish it was before applying the clear coat.

Wow that's a tremendous amount of work. Hat tip to you sir!
I didn't even realize the site was still active until a few days ago.... Don't think I've posted in a decade.
That was an awesome transformation. Kudos to your commitment!
A new option for modifying the UEC and REC to make the car compatible with LED bulbs is available at a fair price providing unlimited use with your VIN.

Tested it by changing out the parking peanut bulb. No flash when shut down or bulb out messages.

Gotta restore the lenses and then onto the H7 high beams and H3 fogs.
