I went to my first autox. I was 36(?) out of 42.

Way to represent the Saab. I was the only one there.

Also, I never hit (well, knocked over) a cone.

Videos: My wife is chatting with some other guys driving a Scion.

Suspension and race rubber would be helpful.

The course was set up for rain, as we started in the rain and then it dried up.

engine:
deleted balance shafts
lightened fly wheel
viggen clutch
3" DP with deleted muffler
"stage 3 tune"

Suspension:
Poly all around up front
double stacked rear sway bar

I think that covers it...

Best time was about 38. Most were running 40-42. I was stuck at 43.4-44.5.

I started off at 50+ and got down to 44 and couldn't get much lower. Of my last five runs they were all 43-46 IIRC.

Autocrossing is fun isn't it?

We just held one here in VT this past weekend, too. I finished 48 out of 82, 6 out of 11 in my class. My poor car was triple driven (Me, wife and younger brother). Stig drove his track beater too, he placed decently well!

FTD on our course was a Europa, 48+ seconds. My time was 55+ seconds. My tires were overheating like crazy in the afternoon. Time for some Dunlop Star Specs or Kumho XS's.

thanks guys.

My car seemed quite compared to most there.

Autox seems to bring out a very diverse crowd. There were some old school muscle cars, some new muscle, some 80's Buicks and RX-7s and the usual WRX/Evo stuff. Drivers aged from 16-50. Unique crowd.

I did "clip" one, it just moved a bit but was not a penalty.
