I will be in West Palm Beach all day Wednesday and Thursday. I have a rental car and I can expense meals. I won't have THAT much down time in between the shoot. But if anyone has food/things to see suggestions, pass them my way.

TIA.

Jealous...

I don't really have much to say as far as food, but theres a lot of stuff to see, especially in the historic district, if you enjoy looking at old buildings and houses, which i do. Grandview Heights is one of the old neighborhoods there. I found it interesting.

Cavallino classic is on january 18 to the 23rd. If you can make that, you will witness the best car shows on earth. I'm talking the best ferrari car show comparable to pebble beach. Not a show for just a bunch of current examples. Although all that is present. But if yuo want to see multiple testa rossas, gto's, 166 barchettas, old grand prix cars, fxx, 6 to 8 f40, f50, enzos, etc etc etc running around all weekend, then this is it.

Plus, This weekend includes the kind of supercar weekend that brings paganis, veyrons, p4/5, 959, etc out of local homes.

Sounds like you might want to extend your travel plans.

The field is divided by decades and has like 500 cars @ breakers. Additionally they have a track day and cruise for the hundreds of cars that don't fit into breakers.

Plenty of huge plastic boob jobs and eurotrash to go around so bring your repellent.

Protip: find the local inns where the car transporters park Saturday late afternoon and enjoy the cavalcade of aluminum and carbon fibre as the mechanics drive the cars around and into the trailers.

Nothing comes close to a guiseppe slipping clutch attempting to massage a 333sp onto a whopping 6" tall ramp.

Not my pics but an idea of what you're in for (this person didn't even get to the 80% of theshow) 2010 Palm Beach Cavallino Classic & Concorso d'Eleganza - Images | John Thawley Motorsports Photography

I was going to make a long weekend of it and flyout my wife. But boss wanted to be a dick and said he wanted me in the office Friday. So I am flying out Friday 6am to be back in the office by 9.

Otherwise, we would have stayed for a week and lived it up.

hay caramba.
The dude way in the background of photo 1/100 is Wayne Carini, owner of F40 Motorsports in CT. He has a show on HD Theater called Chasing Classic Cars. It's a 1/2 hour weekly show.... so much fun to watch. He goes around the country buying up old classics for mild to full restos, with the goal of taking them to auction or selling to specific clients. Lots of high end brokering, etc. Has pretty much the best life ever. :)

I will talk to the producer who lives in the area, maybe we can steal away a few hours and check out this event. Sounds too good to miss. He is also a car guy(has a 6mt '10 Camaro SS he says I can drive while I am down there) so I think he would be down for it.

I've been to the Palm Beach Supercar weekend..tons of cars you'll never see otherwise. Some of the "test drives" are pricey....but worth the $$ if you can swing it - as you probably won't get a chance to drive the car otherwise - it makes my occasional Ferrari rentals in Germany look like a common occurrence.

look up palm beach supercar weekend. its the other mega supercar show that saturday. pics available anywhere online. it brings all non-ferrari content.

coupple years ago spyker was giving test drives as was shelby supercars.

mclaren f1 content in that one.

EDIT: they may have changed dates on me
