Finished another black Viggen. This time a Flex fuel vert with Gt2871 on a top mount manifld with the aim of the best street car possible. Upgrading from 18t6cm Flex fuel. There were some requirements. Needing to stay away from the Wheel hop inducing chassis flex of the Vert and required to have the same performance in the Desert during the summer all while being able to run a nice clutch.

The power looked like this on E85 as I started fine tuning the boost to get the Tq to be as flat as possible.

The result was a car on the road that just pulled harder and harder without the massive wheelspin of 400+ tq., Thats not to say this would not waste the tires I mapped it up to a flat 20psi so it would be safe. (Also room to make a race ecu for track day on slicks) All without requiring a metallic clutch. I though the car was sneaky on the power side, The customer Disagreed and said there was no sneaky about it. Just a bit of  Followed by :D
One tricky bit was running it on the dyno with no fans back to back pulls to get the air temp up there near 100f while the room was in the 60s.

Oh and this is through a stock airbox/paper filter and a BSR 2.5" catback. This kept things quiet with the ragtop on the highway. The stock Dp/CB connector was replaced with a 2.5" v-band for increased flow.

Made sure all the Tq maps were done so that I had best control of power for first and second limiter as well as boost control to limit the Airmass on Gasoline as needed.

I have some more videos will work those up one of these evenings.

Great job, Nick.

What's harder than making torque is spending the time to hold it down, at least to me. After making 420lb.ft. on my last dyno, I've been talking about working on a similar torque curve in preparation for E85 etc. Should be a lot of fun.

Dude he is in the midwest, just a few hours south of me. Come visit me and head down there when I do.

Like I posted on your website, very nice to see tuning done where peak power is not always the goal. That is a very flat torque curve and I bet its quite different from the hard hitting torque that we are all used to with our Saabs. Nice to something different, very inspiring!

your not making any sense...

the diaphragm of the wastegate is mounted there yes, then the rod runs over to the flapper on the exhaust housing. thats wxactly how every other internal wast egate is setup.

why do you think something is custom made here?

I believe he is referring to the waste gate actuator.

It can be seen more clearly on the original "Dark" Viggen project.

The actuator looks to be mounted off of the power steering pump bracket.
