SPEC sells them - but they are not cheap I want one for my 1995 when I swap the trans...

it looks like best bet will be to go with a SD aluminum fly wheel and a spec clutch kit.....big $$

 

IF me, I'd seriously research the Ali flywheel idea.
a) it's pricey
b) it does very little for real world performance.
Research the idea, there should be lots of feedback reviews...to help one decide, if you wish to look.

 

Have you thought about getting your stock flywheel lightened ? Cost is less than an aluminum flywheel, and does not have the driveability issues of an extremely light flywheel .

 

^^ That is what I was thinking of doing, I just have to find a shop to do said work - after I locate a Flywheel for my 1995 (since I think that is my only missing component)

 

Tom, i can get flywheels lightened for not to much money, you can find 2-4 lbs off the far outside of the 9k flywheel (more if you dont need timing marks)

give me a call and i can help ya out


he usally chages 35$ to plane the flywheel, and 50 per hour to pull material off

in one hour he can turn the entire wheel to sawdust, so it never runs more than 50$

aluminum flywheels are not worth the money compared to having a stock one lightened.

Autos don't have a flywheel, they have flex plates.

No reason to play with those. They are very different then flywheels and serve a different purpose.

Guess I just thought thats what bolted to the torque converter...

 

I may see if they can lighten up my stock Viggen flywheel...

 

if a vig flywheel is the same as a 9-5 flywheel, then yes, alot, he had NO issues finding 5lbs off it, 9-5 flywheels are thicker, and have tons of meat to take off.

 

i might have to get in touch about lightening my stock flywheel. i installed a alum but having my spare done for 35 why not...
