I was working on my cold air intake and just wanted to check my AMM. According to the Bently manual, I should rev up the car to 2500 rpm and then shut down and see if the wire is glowing red. I looked and it is not. However, I do not have any problems or check engine lights. Is the AMM ok then or should I look at replacing?

I don't have the Bentley in front of me but isn't the test to see if the wire flashes very briefly? I don't think it glows for even a second. It's just a flash, IIRC. Maybe you need two people to conduct the test?

Need to dig out the Bentley and double-check...

Yep, it's just a quick flash to clean off.

Did have 2 people and he did not see anything light up. How bright it it? Should I be lookiing at it at night? If this function does not work, it should throw a check engine light correct?
