I think it would be a bit of a waste on the compressor housing. Perhaps on the hot side though - to keep the exhaust hot and velocities up.

Ceramic coatings (also known as Thermal barrier coatings) do not reduce heat. They do increase tolerance (of a coated part) to heat, and increase the life of the parts exposed to a high heat environment.

I used to work with a company that did these coatings on gas turbine engines and spent part of my time in the metallographic lab examining samples. The difference between a coated part and an uncoated part coming in for repair was very apparent.
