I just replaced the clutch on my AC compressor (yeah it is simple and there should have been aftermarket kits made- one nut, a screw, and two clips for the whole thing to come off). Anyway, after running it again, I noticed that the serpentine belt is hanging off the tensioner by about 2mm. The AC compressor and tensioner pulley should not directly affect each other, so I think it's just a coincidence.
I pulled the pulley off and the bearings are fine. Should there have been a spacer between the tensioner and pulley bearing? Is there any kind of adjustment for the tensioner pulley depth?
I asked a Saab mechanic and he said the whole tensioner assembly needs to be replaced. Is that right?
