Alright need some suggestions.

Ive finally got the power i want, ive almost got all the cosmetic things id like, but the final thing i have done nothing and know nothing about doing is lossing alittle weight.

Is there any possible things i can do to make the car alittle lighter? Id still want it too look stock... and nothing impratical or ricerish like CF panals or taking out the back seats. Id just like to shed about 100 lbs if i could so the car feels the same when i have a pasanger rideing with me.

I know A/C is a possibily. Any thing else?

any ideas?

Take off the front doors like a Wrangler? Perhaps remove the hood? The 9000 is a pig and really isn't worth trying to make light.....it is luxurious and by trying to strip any real major weight, you will take away some of the luxury the car has. If that doesn't bother you, rip out your seats and all the motors for them and put in some racing seats. Also, maybe do a rear seat delete of some sort like the Mustangs?

so aero ya deffinatly didnt read the part about non ricer and not removing the seats didja? :D

im not going to compeate with neon for weight im just trying to find stuff i could possibly replace or take out to shed a few pounds. I love the combination of luxuary and the speed thats why i love my car. But it is a tank which is why id like to lighten it a bit.

sunroof and motor is 40-50 pounds, rear window motors are about 10, front seats are 30ish, rear seat weighs nothing....hood is heavy as hell. overall your not gonna do anything worth while. especially not easily

You can take some pounds out...but like anything it isn't going to come without a trade-off. None of the little shit will really add up to much, you'd need to get into lexan windows that stay in place remove all the interior stuff that isn't needed (door panels, seats, some of the H/V/AC stuff, headliner, carpet, insulation, etc.). The only way to make the car relatively light is to have it stripped to nothing, and that isn't too much fun for a daily driver.

I read somewhere, and this may apply to older generation 9000s like mine, have identical, but lighter counterparts, such as doors, with cars such as the Fiat Chroma and Lancia Thema. I have access to a Thema but I think my mechanic would be awfully sore if I swapped his doors. The 9000s doors IIRC are more heavier than their Italian European counterparts due to side impact protection, which speaks to me that Lancia and Fiat arent the best in side impact protection ;)

9000s are pigs huh, well i did get my 87 to tip the scales at 2565lbs without me in it, pretty light for a 4 door car if you ask me.

There's a lot of meat at the front of a 9000 to protect the driver in a collision, the metal core support of the bumper probably helps, but I bet you'd be find in any reasonable speed crash...you'd just subject more mechanical parts to damage.

well just because somone decides to do it you cant just go calling them stupid left and right, unless you want to call the rest of the people stupid that do it, hundreds of thousands of people. But i guess everyone has their own opinion, i wont do it to my aero but if i had a car that i was serious about going fast with i would def do it.weight=free HP

Race car with roll cages, no prob....take off as much as you want that's not struturally important.

On a street car, I'd be very reluctant to take out a federally required safety structure.

Just sayin....

I like speed as much as the next person, but....
thanks mike ;)

see the thing is i needed a new hood anyways, couldnt find a good dent free hood locally (or for that fact pretty much in the US) and new ones are like $500. and the only good used hood i found was red and they wanted $400 for it. So this for me is a deal.
