Did I launch my car perfectly?

Yes

Did I hit every shift perfectly?

Yes

Did I loose (badly) to a Kim Chee Shark?

Yes

I now hate my car.

I lost to a what appeared to be a stock Tiburon.

As a first time Saab owner I have learned to put up with a few of the 9-3ss "quarks".

Rattling dashboard, few aftermarket parts, rattling doors, deprecation, rattling trunk, squeaky suspension, shitty headlights, crunchy steering, shitty cold weather performance, shitty dealership (not meyer garage which rocks), can't change HU, crappy sound system, T8, etc....

Oh ya, and I totally fucking overpaid for it.

I know my car isn't fast but losing to Tiburon could very well be the last straw..........................

I was into V-6 Tib's for a hot minute when I was in talks with Hyundai to join their design studio which meant a free car.

From being on the forum for a day they have some pretty quick cars. There are turbo and SC kits putting them into the 12's and 13's. There are also countless guys running low 14's from just a couple of bolt ons.

The new coupe is going to have 6spds/RWD/and 223hp turbo out of the box. So people need to get over the fact that they are going to get beat by Hyundai's.

RedDIC,
Pretty damn close. A bit wider, but same basic stitching and bolsters.

I have room in my heart to love both Saabs and Goats. And truth be told here, I had to seriously think about getting a Po-; Po-; Pon-; HOLDEN! LOL!

I've actually lost to a Tiburon before. In my old 9000 Aero too. I only had 3 people in the car and they had about 6. The Tib was packed. It was highways speeds to a little under double the limit. It must have been super or turbocharged though because it definitely gained on me. No more than a car but still! I don't drive that fast anymore though because it's way too dangerous and I can't afford any tickets.

Silly Saaber! Don't you know that Saabs always win frumroll? Launching is for AWD losers...

Two words: Turbo Lag.

My SC doesn't get it's legs until 3rd gear. Most Saabs aren't stoplight racers.
The V6 Tib is not slow, I had one give me a run for my money a few years ago in my GTI VR6 and they've improved the Tib over the years.

The reason new saabs suck a big fat one until 3rd is because the boost/performance variables are restricted electronically until 3rd, lag is the least of your car's concerns lol.

Even with the limiters, the '05 9-5 Aero (autotragic) does a 14.6....

as it has been said those Tibs are no joke. Add a chip (who would know unless you disect the car) an intake (again might not notice) and a simple non coffee can exhaust (might not notice either) and they can really move. I have seen some set up like that pulling; if i recall correctly; 240+ whp. They are quick and really not that bad. Still like my Saab Sled though

I've been impressed with them, still don't like them though. they're a mean autox car, nearly as fast as some evo's. regardless of performance it's still ugly (well first gen was) cheap made and uncomfortable.... IMHO of course

The second generation Tiburon looks pretty good to me. Sure, the shifter is like walking through a maze, it torque steers like an absolute pig, and the interior plastics are made out of Playskool rejected pieces, but it's a pretty fun car. However, a V6 with V6 gas mileage and four cylinder power isn't a very good value.

I can go on all day about these cars. I had one before I traded it for my 04 93 Aero.
The aftermarket is great for tiburons and they can be some major sleepers. If i remeber correctly you can get upwards of 250whp n/a or 320whp F/I for only about 3-4k. This of course is on a gt-v6.

2k193turbo,
Yeah, I've been itching to get the Pedders suspension kit, a mild cam grind and go from there.

I kinda like the wing. I sometimes think about putting a Monaro VXZ facia on it just to really fool onlookers. Damned expensive though and not really worth the effort.
