I'm selling this on the behalf of a local down here. All questions and concerns should be directed to me and then I will get the answers for you.

I just got finished going over the car and test driving it and all is good. It is in need of some body work which is being looked into and a new wheel due to pothole damage (the city of evansville is responsible).

Body work needed:
There are 4 spots where the clear coat is peeling and one small puncture in the right rear quater panel with slight surface rust beginning. It also needs a new viggen bumper due to an incident where the owners mother hit a low rising concrete barrier; outside air temp sensor missing most likely from this incident. All of this is being looked into being repaired (quotes so far) and this information will be updated upon the owners decision of what to do.

Rims and tires:
This is the current set of rims on the car, one needs to be replaced.

If you have the above rim I would be interested in hearing from you on the behalf of the owner. In the process of seeing if they are still available for sale to determine the route of replacment. Currently this Viggen still has winter tires as the summers were shot. At the momment there is no plan to replace the winter tires with new summers.

There is a very small chip in the windshield in the upper left corner (passenger side) as seen in this photo.

Front Bumper as it stands currently.

I forgot to nab a photo of the other side but after talking with the owner I'm 80% sure that we will be replacing this bumper but I cannot say for certain at this time.

The owner does smoke but when I asked if he smoked in the car the answer I recieved was that he attempts to not smoke in the car at all. While I was driving the car and looking it over I could not smell any smoke in the car at all which backs this up.

I forgot to snap a pic of the engine bay but it was clean (not Mcrowley clean mind you but clean). I did check the oil and all looks good. It will be due for an oil change in the next 2000 miles. Owner says he has always changed it on time.

The following is information that I am waiting on from him. I have asked him to check in his records if the PCV update was done (never seen one so I didn't know what to look for in the back sorry) and if the MAF had been replaced any time recently.

I do not have regular access to this car so please do not ask me to grab any more photos. If you are genuinely interested in purchasing I will attempt to arrange a time when I can see the car and get more photos of requested items. I don't have a good camera, everything will be from my cell phone so I apologize in advance.

Only one fill in plate of the four in the side skirts is missing. The driver front is missing.

For carfax checking I'm providing the VIN below.
VIN Number: YS3DP35G0Y7003318

The DI recall has been performed on this car, don't know how many miles are on this DI though. Called Saab of Fishers and had them run the VIN to check. Unfortunately the PCV update kit was not listed in there at all nor any history of the MAF having been replaced under warranty.

Price: $7000 to $9000 USD
Price is ranged dependent upon what the owner decides to fix first and are suggestions based on my walkthrough of the car and test drive. Offers are welcomed.

Disclaimer:
I reserve any and all rights to update all information contained within this classified based on any pre-sale work done that requires a re-appraisal and estimate of the vehicles worth. In such case I will make every attempt to send any neccessary PM's to parties who have PM'd me with offers as to insure information is not missed on any end of communication. The owner of this viggen has all rights to sell this car locally here or anywhere and is not bound under any means to hold it for me to sell. Should the owner sell this locally or before I manage to I will update the thread as sold locally.

Pickup:
If anyone on here purchases this viggen on here you must come to Evansville to pick the car up. I will arrange it so that I have the car with me at time of drop off. If you don't wont to drive in with a friend we have a local regional airport that you can fly into and I will pick you up from that airport and will complete the transaction with the owner. I will also detail the car the day it is supposed to be picked up. There is no warranty of any sort being provided.

Thank you for looking and please fell free to post any and all question on here or to PM me and I will return answers as fast as I possibly can.

I have to say I judge a person quite critically when it comes to car care.

A few things that jump out at me.
-Body damage is more than average.
-Spare tire on the car.
-Messy interior state.
-Possibility of a smoker.

All of this screams not a very attentive owner to me. I maybe completely off base but, it's what I see. That being said I apprecaite the level honesty you have with regard to the condition of the car. Kudos on that front!

Absolutely agree with you there. If the owner can't take care of his car, what are the odds of him being able to take care of himself? This Viggen needs to be with a more deserving owner.

104k on the car as palmer pointed out. The spare is on because of a pothole. The city of evansville is replacing the wheel. We just have to find one. I had never seen these rims before but they are oem saab and remind me of PAviggen's car. The interior is messy because he just moved into a new apartment the other day. None of the exterior damage was from anything the owner did directly. Bumper damage was from his mother driving it. I forget what/who caused that. The puncture he has no idea how that happend

I was able to find the rim. I have notified the owner. It will be replaced once he has the check from the city.

I'll admit I did have fun driving his Viggen today. I was sitting there expecting the torque steer when I floored it to make sure it was boosting full and the wheel barely budged out of my hand. I just laughed and said that was tame compared to what I'm used to. When we got back I tossed him my keys and about 5 minutes into the drive he got some room to open up with mine. He laughed and admitted I wasn't kidding about his car being tame.

I just wish I could afford this viggen and fix all the few little things needing attention. It's really what I wanted when I was looking for a car to replace my 9k. Black, 3dr, 5spd, just happens to be a viggen taking the icing off the cake. Sigh.

If the peanut gallery wants to see a rough Viggen come to Portland, Maine and see what a 5300$ Viggen looks like.

I think the quality of the photos make everything about that car feel dirty. No offesne to the photographers but wow those pics aren't helping anything!

Nick, if I had access to a good camera I would have used it. I only have my cell phone for taking pictures and I wanted to make sure that I got pictures of what would need attention. If I'm able to get access to a good camera and take photos again I will so that the quality is better.

The portion of the car with the clear coat damage is the passenger side. I was able to get the full profile of that side in the photo so that side of the car could be seen in whole.

I will work on getting access to a good camera and then some quality photos. Hopefully no later then by the end of next week. I have finals this week and have to be moved out by friday into my new place. Moving starts tomorrow.

Go to Walmart, have your friend buy a 80$ camera, go snap some pics, and change your mind about the quality of said, 80$ camera. :D

I didn't mean bad just the photos are not giving a good impression for your friend. Frankly you'd be better off with NO pics then Bad pics. A car purchase is a very impulsive thing!

just makes me wonder how much of the car has been repainted (for w/e reason), since Saab black paint does not have a clear coat (if indeed that is what is peeling)

I was working on my Black 97 NG900 yesterday and I can say with supreme confidence that my car has the same type of peeling in a few spots (the edge of the window trims especially) and has never been repainted!

What I'm saying is while SAAB black does not have a clear coat, you are not necessarily seeing any evidence of a respray.

Also no shop would clearcoat if they didn't have to. That's $.

I will look into that. I did not know that saab black did not have a clear coat applied. Makes me wonder if when they replaced my quater panel if they put a clear coat on that?
