I too love it!

Unfortunately all the touristy Boston girls strolling around my state with that exact pattern on their purses... driving 15 mph in a 45 while they text on their Iphones... well it kind of ruins it for me.

But I love the car. ;)

I know a guy selling one with the 5 speed and 123,000 miles. Wants 3,000.00. The paint is rough/clearcoat worn and needs a windshield. There are NO leaks anywhere and you could eat off the engine. Interior is almost as nice as yours. Wondering what your thoughts are on the price.

Beautiful car!!! :th_MySaab900Like:

My only critique would be that you need to take some PrepSol, a tooth brush, and a black cotton rag to the wax on the spoiler. I usually tape mine off before waxing the car since it's such a bitch to get off afterward.

Ha! What else are sons for but to drive ya crazy?

Btw, the rear bumper extensions are the same color as the front, but they're picking up all that sunlight and reflection off the white gravel, making them appear super faded. They could certainly use a repaint, but they aren't nearly as bad as they look.

As God as my witness, my next c900 will be a vert. Always wanted one, never had one. This car is beautiful. Which do you prefer - the spg or the vert?

Thanks! :)

Tough question. I've had the vert for 4 years, so it's way more "sorted" than the SPG in almost every way.

The SPG springs sit way too high on the vert but it's quite comfortable with surprisingly little body roll. On any stiffer spring, the Bilstein HDs would be too much, but for a cruiser convertible they are perfection.

The SPG has B&G lowering springs and HDs, which is great in the twisties but not nice on any moderately rough roads. Plus the wheels are bent to shit. Once I get the wheel/tire/shock situation sorted, it will be a lot better to drive.

They each have slightly different tuning setups, with roughly the same power. The SPG pulls a lot smoother, which DrewP says is due to having a Dave Kennedy-modified vac advance.

The vert's exhaust sounds amazing, too.

I would give the driving edge to the vert and the looks edge to the SPG. :)

I love the plaid door cards. Very classy. I have the same done to my headliner and pillars, color matched black and grey.
Thanks! I love it. I should have put some padding behind it though instead of wrapping the fabric straight to the card. Oh well, live and learn.

Went for a drive last night. Car is running buttery smooth and sounded awesome so took a couple vids. Pardon my lens finger, driving/shifting/holding a phone is difficult. I suppose that is why there are laws against it. :)

Vid 2: http://flickr.com/gp/48406656@N00/29wmL8 I stopped short in this one for a sec because I thought the car parked on the opposite shoulder might have been a cop.

Haven't updated this thread in over a year, figured it's due.

Prior to this weekend, the car was riding on Bilstein HDs and SPG Springs. I thought that was a great combo until I purchased my M3... at which time I decided I wanted it to be a *little* lower and a *little* firmer. The ride height has always bothered me but this car is an epic cruiser, so at the same time, I didn't want it to be tooth-rattling.

With DrewP's advice we settled on the combo of Kilen springs and Koni shocks. I also figured this was a good time to put in Adam's (VI009DZ) excellent rear axle relocation kit. If you're thinking about getting one, wait no longer. For $85 it's an excellent value.

The car now sits about 3/4" lower in the front (from SPG Springs) and 1/2" lower in the back. More importantly, it looks great AND rides perfectly. Bonus: the axle kit gives me the clearance to run 205/50s with the Konis on full soft.

It's certainly nowhere near as low as it could be. But to me, it looks like it *should* have come from the factory, and handles like it too.

Many thanks to Drew and Adam!

Previous setup.
