I am having problems with the HID headlights on my '07 9-3 2.0T Saab.

At first the "right front low beam failure" notice appeared on the PID. I changed the bulb and the light worked again for a short time before failing again. It is not the bulb.

The light would always go on when the car was first started but would then fail within a few minutes of driving.

Lately the left low beam has started doing the same.

Both lights come on when the car is started but one or both go out later while driving.

I have changed the igniters on both sides without success.

I also have two new ballasts but thought I would ask here before taking the bumper off the change them.

Others have pointed to the under the hood fuse box as a problem.

Any thoughts?

Follow-up report.

It turns out that I just needed 2 new QUALITY bulbs. I put in two new bulbs from EEuroparts and no more problems.

I believe that the bulb I used for the first replacement was in fact not good and it failed, causing the bulb on the driver's side to fail as well. Two new good quality bulbs and all is well, at least for now.
