I was sold an '05 93t 5 speed manual with a bad ecu. I paid cash and within a mile the check engine light came on. While I didn't like it, a deal is a deal etc. and I wasn't greatly concerned, merely expecting an additional expense. Little did I know that the ecu is unobtanium, Saabs being orphaned by GM. surely I am not the only one facing this problem. Does anybody have any suggestion for a fix from experience?

There are some places out there that repair or recover ECU's, and some people have done it themselves using T8Suite. I don't have any personal experience to share with either of those options.
If you find a used replacement there is a spacer kit that allegedly allows more airflow around it to prevent failure: obtained by emailing [email protected] Install video: How to Save Your Saab 9-3's ECU! (T8 ECU Spacer Kit Install) - YouTube
