01 viggen 5spd compatability question

26 views and counting, so I figure somebody may be interested. Dug around on my EPC program looking for differences. Viggen has the same diff. as the 9-5, which is why I can't just jam a 2.0 trans. in there. Thought of swapping axels, but the Viggen also has its own outer cv joints, so hubs would need to go too and I can't degrade this car that much. Same input shafts too, so that's good news. Bad news is: clutch cover/bell housing misses by a mile. So much appears the same that I'm going to swap over bell housings and see if this is really a feasible option. Bear in mind this car is used more as a tool than a toy, so I'm less concerned with gear ratios than functionality.
I'll keep y'all posted on the outcome, and yes I'll try to get pics. Everybody likes pics

I don't think you can swap bell housings. You either need to find another Viggen trans, have yours rebuilt, or pick up a 2.0 trans and a viggen quaife and have it installed.

if this is done then you still need the bearing housings i belive out of the original viggen trans. if you do go this route let me know i have a diff for a viggen oon my shelf, not sure if i will ever get it in so i may sell it.

You mean you have a Quaife diff laying around? I'd probably ruin a gearbox or two trying to install it, but wouldn't rest easy until it's in my car. But that's me. how much would you want for yours?
