The plastic lenses I purchased are still in very good shape after about 4-5 months of use.

Here's a couple half-assed pics, only one of the lights is adjusted right, the other one I need to use pliers to adjust since the plastic is all stripped out:angry. You can see how the left light has a cut-off at only about 10-15 feet in front of the car:

Here's how it looks with my fogs, which are stock with 100 watt H3 bulbs:

Quick question...should the fogs automatically turn off when the brights are turned on? I just replaced a ballast that was faulty, and now my right side bright doesn't turn on at all either...These lights won't just work 100%, no matter what it seems. Wondering if it could just be a bad relay?

Ill take a look at it....

So this is HIDs without projectors and clear lenses? Correct? Just trying to make sure I understand what I'm looking at.

Also, looks like your Fogs go higher and farther than your headlights.. Kindof funny...

where did you get plastic a lens for a 9-3

Yeah the fogs scatter upward a bit (they are stock), but I am only about 25-30 feet from that wall. In a darker area, the projectors go much further than the fogs (well, the properly-aimed one at least ;)). The other projector is a PITA to mess with but I'll get it right within the next couple of days.

Another thing I noticed is, even though the fogs do light up the area close in front of me more, it is generally easier to see with just the projectors on...the yellow from the fogs is better for cutting through fog. White-blue light provides better visibility at night.

Here is my thread about how to make your own plastics lenses.

http://www.saablink.net/forum/customizing-your-ng900-old-9-3/54770.htm

I had the lens on my car for 8 or 9 months and they have been great. People on other forums have custom made lenses for years and still going strong.

I never had an interest in trying to sell them.

I will gladly try to answer any questions you have about vacuum forming.

Yes that's normal tech two you can change it so they are on when high beam is on
If your headlights now come on in position 1 or 2 (the headlight switch has positions 0, 1, 2) then you have the US settings and your fogs will go out when you turn on the high beams. You can change it with a Tech II to the "Euro" settings. That will make your headlight switch turn on parking lights (only) in position 1 and head lights in position 2 and also allow you to turn on the fogs wth 1, 2, or with high beams.

This^

But as far as your right side bright not working correctly, you might have either a faulty relay, or a bad shutter in the projector. Should have nothing to do with the ballasts.

The eBay ballasts have very short life spans, and it is most likely the cause. If the relay was dead neither high beam would work.

The high beam trigger wires on the morimoto has also proved flaky and will sometimes make one stop working. Wouldn't be a bad idea to chop the connector off and replace with something better, but I will still bet you it's a ballast.

I already bought a new ballast, put the one that was still working on the side that is now having the problem. I'll try switching them to see if it changes which brights work.

There is a two-year warranty on them apparently so I will try to get money back. I looked at that retrofit source site online, but I can't justify over 100 bucks for those parts. Would rather pay 10 and replace them every so often.
