Boy, do I feel like a dumbass!

Anyway, good luck with the sales I guess....
I have seen your car, and if mine was just about as rust free as yours is, then ya i would go ahead. But i mean putting a gt28 on it knowing its going to kill the tranny. I was even so close as to buying a LSD for on it saabrally.com just so the transmission can handle it and even then i would have to get some trans cooler.

Its just a lot of work, and they are really big money pits. I thought i was spending a lot when i had the NG. I just foresee myself always spending money on it, it happens with every Saab that i have. Always going to bigger and better with the SPG its on going. I was thinking about keeping my hard to find SPG parts but that would just tempt me to get another one later on down the road.

Modding the Newer Saabs is just more fun as the c900 have been done over and over. Although it would have been nice to make something thats away from the norm thats litters every forums "SPG with clean Super Aero wheels" kinda same old.

As much as Saabs are unique everybody follows the same patterns around here, thats why with the SS there is so much that can be done thats completely away from the norm. Getting away from the tronic system is going to be great, along with some other plans that i have. Some completely custom bumpers awesome new paint job different spoilers that most everybody on here will consider rice but will actually serve a purpose, just a ton of close minded people in the Saab community.

Main reason for the SPG was for a daily, then i wanted to turn it into something that set it apart from every other SPG, if the rust was not a issue i would have done that but i have learnt a ton about these cars, so some good came out of it.

I'm not going to have any problem making a profit on any my parts also, I think it was a good experience just something right now that I'm not willing to put a huge effort into such a old car.

Do we have any current pics of the SS
Right now the SS in the Shop because it was broken into in Boston some stuff was stolen and radio gone ect. Currently is just your Norm silver SS Arc. I'm building a stock pile of parts in my room though. Motec M400, Aim Data logger(Digital Dash), Quafie LSD, Short Shifter. There is a lot that needs to be followed up though. When the main project gets underway then i will get some pictures up, its about a 20k project so I'm taking it very slow. Right now i have some good ideas for it, AWD and making it a Coupe cutting out a huge section and welding it back. Thats that main reason for the current price cost. So i figure i should be able to have a finished in about 1.5 years this is while I'm in college so cant go to fast.

Although the coupe is not to much into reality the AWD is more then likely going to happen instead. So i think i will be selling the Quafie LSD also because i need a completely different transmission. So a follow up the in the forums with be included with every step detailed we can all learn. I think its ignorant when people hide great ideas just because they think its a "special project". So currently no pictures, search back in history there are some pictures around here from when i first picked it up.

have fun with that ss. i sincerely hope you know what you're getting yourself into with the electronics on that car. trionic is just the tip of the iceberg, pal.

but if you can pull it off, my hat's off to you.

What a dork, buys a car without full inspection stards buying upgrade parts like a super dork just to find out later after he spend all this money that the car is all rusted to crap. Dude you are young and dumb

What a dick!

Raul, just because you're frustrated because no one takes you seriously and no one believes your stories, don't go taking it out on others. At least his car/performance mods are REAL. BTW how's your 340whp doing?

I'm sure it will be a great undertaking. Motec M400 will be replacing the standard Tronic system, the car is going to based more for track so the luxuries of the SID display and other Saab electronics that we take for granted will be lost. I don't see that as being that huge of a deal anyway, as the AIM Dash will be displaying all of the information that i currently need.

Thanks for the constructive criticism there Raul. The car was going to be used as a daily driver that was acquired for $100, sometimes i spend that much on dinner when i go out, so its not a loss at all. I knew the car had rust when i bought it, like i said earlier the goal was a daily driver I just went out of hand with buying parts really. I was more or less testing out the integrity of the floorboards with a hammer and soon pieces just kept falling off. As far as money invested into the car, all the items that were bought will more then likely gain profit based on deals that i made to acquire them. I know i can re-coupe the measly $100 spent on the whole car just buy selling the SPG kit alone.

Personally i don't know you at all, but based on your bias judgment of ones character I'm not expecting any ounce of intelligence from you at all. But more or less try to obtain some respect for not only the Admins and Mods but all the other members of the board that post on this forum. I suggest reevaluating your next words of wisdom given to anybody if you want to continue posting here.

I have to dissagree with that, I've been driving C900's daily for the past 11 years and have put very little money into them to keep them going. My current SPG probably looks just like yours underneath, but it hasn't missed a beat getting me to work every day, driving me across the country on an 8000 mile road trip or towing a rally car on occasion.

Whats an "SS" some sort of Impala?

Where did you find a $100 car with an SPG kit on it? That's a good deal.
Craigslist is the way to go, thats were i sourced out most of my parts.

I'm sure if i used it as a daily driver and I never started to put some mods in it then i would have been a decent car given the rust also. Adding power mods makes things break, not to mention the suspension would need to be replaced to accommodate the increase of HP.

haha ya the SS is just a term used for 9-3 2003-07 ect Sport Saloon/Sedan and onwards. Like c900 Ng900 9-3, then SS (Sport Sedan)
