well i might be able to get that one to bolt up correctly, depends on how hard it is to manipulate it into position...

next question.... the oil return line... is just a little bit off, so that the stock silicone tubing wont fit propperly... could i replace it with a piece of coolant hose... or do i need to find more silicone tubing...
can teh coolant hose withstand the heat of the oil, and would the oil break down the rubber hose somehow..

TIA again..

can you clock the turbo to get it into the correct position for the oil line? probably not thinking about it again... the T3 I think can only be positioned 3 ways.

how ever it's set up, be sure that the oil return feed it at the dead bottom of the turbo.

coolant hose is not oil rated generally. it may work for a while as a TEMPORARY solution, but it should either be a solid metal pipe, or some other kind of oil rated silicon or steel braded hose. as a temp measure on my 900 with the TD04, I used a section of PCV rated hose for a volvo 960, that worked pretty well but even that I did not trust because of it’s questionable thickness, even though it WAS oil rated.

anything with rubber in it that is exposed to oil is only temporary. simple fact is oil degenerated rubber. A low quality rubber or rubber that is not oil rated will last months not years when under constant oil exposure... Even “oil rated” rubber hose probably has a 6 year useful lifespan.

apparently Saab and volvo did not know this when they designed their PCV systems cause they are all full of rubber  why is it that even GM's cheapest cars have all plastic and silicon PCV systems for 20 years and it took saab up till 06 to have this type of set up on the 9-5's? Ridiculous.

so i took the silicone return line off a 2.0 turbo t5 engine at work today, should be just long enough, and i have some hose to modify my coolant lines, but foolishly i left them in a friends car... kicking myself for that one... well it might be done tomarro night.

after the wastegate mod i attempted to lengthen the wastegate, but i think i screwed up because im running over 15 psi base boost.
