Hmmm. Where are all the Saabers? A letter to the Club

Well, supposedly we have just over 100 members in this club. Where the heck are they?

It had been way too long, so I felt we needed a club meeting, and by the reaction it sounded like many agreed. However, besides myself, only two showed.

And while I do appreciate Frank and Randy's dedication, it's a bit disappointing to me when no one else shows.

C'mon people. This is YOUR club. The few who make the time to come to club meetings can't do it all. If you want events to go well--or even HAVE events, you need to put some time in. All it takes is an hour out of a month to come to a meeting.

If you don't want to come to a meeting, if you don't want events, then I see no reason to continue this endeavor, and that would be a shame. It isn't just about the cars, the tuning, the preservation of these vehicles, it's also about the friendship, commeraderie, and even the assistance you may find from your fellow club members.

I had a line-up of events I was going to propose to the club for 2007, but as of this moment, only two others know what they are. Should I let sleeping dogs lie and just forget about the whole thing? Or is there interest and should I post them?

Again, this is YOUR club, not mine. Let me hear from you. I welcome a response.

Jim Miller, WASSAAB

well I'm not a member, but I have been to one of your runs, and they are great! Not sure why no one is showing up, but they really should be. If I were local, I would be there as often as I could.

I have been to only a couple mettings. Unfortunately the meetings usually are schedule on the weekends. Being in school thats the only time i'm able to work (aside from my job at the university during the week).

Events are usually the same way. If I can participate in an alternative fashion, I'd definately be willing.

Okay, for you guys in school, when would be a better time? Would Friday at Chick-fil-A in Dulles be better? Kill two birds with one stone, so to speak?

I would like to propose Wegmans, I'm there constantly, and its basically a few blocks from Chick Fil-A.

They aslo have tons of room upstairs, and have plenty of food.

April 22nd. Jim will have details soon. It is going to be held at the Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum at Dulles. We will be joining the The Central Penn Saab Club on this day at the museum.

Randy is correct. Look in the next few days for details in the Events Section of the WASSAAB Forum.
