Swedish Car event?

Being the past president I get a ton of emails about other local car clubs. I just recieved this over the weekend:

" Ladies and Gentlemen, Please let me introduce myself, my name is Mark Johnson and I am the Director of the Virginia Chapter of the VCOA. I am trying to gauge interest in an all Swedish car show to be held at the IKEA at Potomac Mills shopping center. I have not approached IKEA management at this point, however a precedent has been set in various other states by allowing such activity. Please let me know if you think your membership would be interested in attending such an event. I had thought this spring, maybe a day in late April through early June would help kick off the years events. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you all.. Jubel

"Mark JohnsonVCOA Virginia Chapter Director"

If there is any interest, I'll pass it on to Mark.

Didn't see the smiley, but that's Carlisle weekend, along with about 1/2 dozen other events in the area

Precisely! There'd be no chance of VCOA coming close to our attendance numbers that way. Although they'd get to have delicious Swedish meatballs while cursing their obliviousness.

Careful Aireeca. As much as I like the thought, who, really, has the last laugh?

True enough. I imagine we're going to be the butt of a lot of jokes this year.

I'll be at Carlisle.

I'm also in for a get together in VA, though not on the same weekend.

Anyone ever get any update on this topic.......Swedish Car Day in VA? I found Mark's email on the Volvo Club site and shot him an email. Just wanted to know if this was a pipe dream or actually going to happen. I'm always up for an event like this, especially when I don't have to drive 5+ hours. Damn Northerners!lol

Careful - we have evidence of you crossing the Mason-Dixon line.

I'm sure that will go over well at the next barbeque.
