I have pretty much got the hang of the Nikon as far as basics are concerned. I love taking RAW pictures since for some reason Nikon chose to go on the soft end of sharpness by default and shooting in RAW corrects this. Anyways, please let me know how I am doing; comments and criticism is welcome.

Glad to see you've got it looking good again. Sorry about the damage. Can't imagine why they'd have to wash it for you if it went by enclosed carrier, though.

Enjoy SoCal. I'm guessing JK88 can't wait to get his camera on your car.

Haha, yeah I have to until I get this stupid CEL for the rear o2 fixed first. Honestly, the pictures you took at Carlisle was part of my reasoning for getting a DSLR since they looked so good.

Thanks, it was disheartening to see it come like that but this car is a handful and always has something go wrong with it so I don't know why I was so shocked haha. It did go down to Jersey from CT because the covered carrier depot was in Palisades Park but how it got this horrendous I do not know.

And who said Jeff can't wait to get his camera on just my car?*

Yes I think a tuition detail for photo shoot trade is in order.

I would take a lesson in photography too, but your plan sounds good to me! I need to take the jump and order a rotary and some new pads this weekend or maybe next week I think.

That's partially true haha, I have been spending more time cleaning than driving recently. I am going to take my inaugural cruise up and down the PCH through Laguna Beach tomorrow!

If you come down as far as Dana Point, I live near PCH/Golden Lantern. Won't be home though. Feel free to rob the place.

If you some free time, head up to Santa Barbara, beautiful place!

Check out the UCSB campus and treat yourself to a slice - http://www.woodstocksiv.com/

You Californians are very friendly, I will grab what I can. When are you coming back anyway?

I stayed in Santa Barbara on vacation years ago and it was amazing. I'm going to Pepperdine so I'm sure it won't be too big of a sacrifice after surviving Newark NJ. My parents have a couple houses in Carmel so I've been there a fair amount over the years, and always make the drive out to Big Sur.

Pepperdine . . .

Hmmm, I bet you "knew" that there are some twisty canyons 'round there.

Should be fun, he he he!

Yeah, for sure. The PCH in that area is unbelievable; I would probably get myself into a good bit of trouble in my car haha but I don't think I will ever bring my car up there since I wouldn't really have a reason to.

I think I am starting to get the hang of shooting with my Nikon, basically through playing around, seeing the results, and learning online. I thought these turned out well; the first one is definately one of my favorite pictures I have ever taken.

And a shot of the fountain in our court yard that turned out great:

I apologize that the first two have a bit of noise since I mistakenly turned the sharpening up on the camera. I'm still learning, but I just wanted to share these.

I'm sure everyone is getting sick of seeing my car, so I will cease taking pictures haha. I have already hit my monthly limit on my new flickr account.

Yeah, I know right? haha I thought it would be fitting plus I'm not perfectly familiar with the area so I went to the biggest parking lot that I figured would be empty at the time which is my brother's high school.

I hope to get rid of this stupid CEL so I can pass emissions and throw some CA plates on her so the Saab can be 'Californiafied.'
