I don't understand why people brag about passing out. But to each, his/her own.

Pics are required.

And I have to say, even a old beat up Saab with an automatic deserves a better fate than that.

Sounds to me like you're developing a real fetish there.

There are places on the Internets where people who share similar interests, uhh, hook up.

Good luck with that.

Beer can be washed out of a car.

Puke, and for that matter, clam chowder that finds its way into your step moms beat to shit Ford Taurus' heater vents lasts forever.

Took the 'vert for a drive on this brisk spring afternoon. It's such an amazing car to drive. The automatic really has to go, it won't shift into 3rd properly any more and it is definitely heavy. The whole car is riding over an inch higher than stock. Estimated weight is now under 2500 lbs, last fall I weighed it at 2650.

Pics to follow.

I'm also going to wash it. Should I use the hose on the inside, too?

I was thinking about getting Saaboy over here to video tape the washing and spray me in a provocative manner.

Heater delete

900 with no dash:

I drilled out all those rivets and took that sound deadening shit out too. When I was the car (tomorrow/next day) I'll take more pictures. It's cleaned up a bit in there and put together but still looks like a hulk. Haha. I don't mind. Feels like a go kart!

Also more heat comes through that hole in the firewall from the radiator / turbo than ever came out the fucking heater.

awesome. I have the same basic thing going with my 99, more heat comes from the exhaust under the shifter area than from the heater. Also, sounds like your auto trans is about to shit the bed, that seems like a common way for em to go, once you start loosing gears, you should stay close to home

Paul

Is the mode of failure such that I won't be able to drive home in any gear?

I've got a 5 speed all picked out. Just need the shop time.

my 900's auto lost everything but 1st. It would not up-shift out of 1st under any conditions at the end. Generally I think that's how they go, unless the front pump seal fails. Then it just blows all the ATF on the ground and it won't move at all.

I don't really have a good answer for that one. I figure i'll do that the same time I pull the die grinder out to cut extra metal off of it. Until now, I've got an arm rest!

Well I have no idea when I'm going to work on it but I did unhook the throttle cable to the transmission so I can just manually shift and it works pretty good. I have to let off the throttle to get into 3rd but I can do a 40 to 130 mph pull in 3rd with only 5 pounds of boost (one of my first test runs).

The back end still wants to walk out on me but doesn't get far. I'm thinking of ditching the sway bars and cutting the front springs and putting turbo 3 door springs in the back when I do the 5 speed swap.
