Hey guys, I'm 16 from Oregon and I just found this site. I just completed the engine transplant on my '88 9000 Turbo yesterday at 11pm, and I haven't been able to stop smiling since. I have deffinitly turned into a Saab addict I havent done any performance modifications yet, ( I was quite suprised by how quick it is stock) but I have done a lot of work on the sound system. I will post pictures soon, i just need to wax it first (probably tomorrow). Anyway drop me a message if you wanna talk about 9000's.
Awesome - WELCOME ABOARD! Glad to see another 9000 owner here. Enjoy the car - and if you have any questions about the car feel free to ask me- I should know most about those cars 8)
Hey good luck replacing your alternator, I noticed when I was taking my engine out that they put it in a pretty difficult place. Anyway, let me know how it goes. Also, I've noticed my car idles just fine, but when I let off the gas from a burst to redline the engine dies most of the time. I think it is either the battery? (which I probably fried listening to my sub for 5 hours without charging it while working on the car) or perhaps a vaccum line? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks
Battery has nothing to do with Idle... try cleaning your IAC (Idle Air Controller) and check the vac lines all over. Mine had issues when I bought it - replaced all the lines and cleaned the IAC and the problems all went away.
OK will do, the reason i thought it could be the battery is because when the headlights are on the car runs really rough and diesels a lot. but it does look like a vaccum line is mis routed so I will check it out... I'll let you know what it is.
Hey guys, this is the Idle Air Controller right? (part the throttle cable deal rests on) Ok well apparently I have another problem, my computer won't let me post pictures, so if someone has the time and is willing to teach me how or figure out whats wrong just IM me on AOL. If that is the IAC so, the spring part seems pretty shot, will go to junkyard to investigate... Is there supposed to be a vacuum line going into it?
You need to host the pictures online, like on www.snapfish.com its free, and you upload pics to thier server. Then attach image tags like this
You cant directly post from your harddrive.
