Just don't look at Scott Patterson the wrong way (or worse say something negative about one of his paid advertisers) while you're there or he'll delete your post, file a restraining order against you, and sue your ass lol

foundourownroad can also be read as "found our own road.......that nobody else cared to follow, or care about, or maintain."

Its like having your own blog site that nobody follows. Epic for the first few days then you realize you wasted your time and it was a dumb idea.

TSL wasn't exactly and overnight success story either. But I agree. Keeping a forum online is key, but you can't argue with free hosting.

I knew this was going to happen when the date was announced, but SOC is the same weekend as my "event of the summer".

http://www.whitemountainboogie.com

However the lineup is the worst I've seen in years, so that could make my decision quite a bit easier. The last 2 years we've had weddings that weekend. Last year we only made it on Sunday, and it was awesome. I laid out in the sun all day, listening to great music ("JJ Grey/Mofro" and "The Reverend Payton's Big Damn Band" just to name a couple), pounding beers, getting a sunburn, and eventually passed out in the field.

MOST of those things could happen just as easily at SOC I suppose

Whoa...$130 plus $42 for registration & mandatory club membership?? What exactly am I missing?

The day passes ($40) don't allow you to have a car on the field, correct?

From the day pass info page:
"Again this year we will allow AND ENCOURAGE participation in the People's Choice and Concours d'SAAB events with the purchase of a Day Pass!"

A Day Pass Provides
Access to All Car Displays
Shopping in Vendor Area
Participation in Group Photo
Participation in People's Choice
Participation in Concours d'SAAB
Access to seminars *
Access to tech sessions *
Access to Parts Tent *
Option to participate in AutoX
Option to participate in Dyno

* Space Allowing
A Day Pass Doesn't Provide
Meals
Access to Sponsor's Dinner
Access to Keynote Banquet
Access to Awards Banquet
Access to Awards Ceremony
Access to Saab Roundtable

The day passes look to include entry to most things, just no meals. And with the day passes you can get a $10 trial membership, and still do the dyno if you want (extra $10 bucks over full pass).

I think the $40 day pass for fri-sat and the trial membership is the route I'll be taking. The extra things are all very cool and exciting, but it's a lotta $ to fork over. As I always kinda joke, that's $ I could be spending on my car(s).

And camping anyone?

Thanks for the clarification, Carl. Somehow I missed that description (exactly what I was looking for).

I'll probably only make it for one day, but we'll see what the work schedule allows. Might be down for camping if you can find a spot.
