Cool SOC/Kart 2 Kart Friday, August 24

Hey guys,
my name is Matthew - I have a 95 9000 aero
I have been on the forum for a while now, just don't really post much and recently got registered.
I am from Rochester, MI - right next to Troy and work at an indoor go-karting track called Kart2Kart.

You can check it out at www.kart2kart.com - the website isnt the best but it gives a good general idea of the place.

Anyways - I think it would be pretty sweet to have a mini-meet up at Kart2Kart one of the SOC nights - Probably Thursday, August 23

We are all huge car nuts - and have had VW, import shows and such in our back parking lot. It would be sweet to show how many Saab owners there are out there.

Obviously, you could all come to ride the karts!!

They are pretty quick - 35-40 mph, neck collars/helmets required, and you get a great experience of competitive racing
on top of that - we have a small BAR!!

Unlike basically every other go kart place there is - we allow you to drink and drive as long as it doesn't go overboard. And I know to some/many of you that is a HUGE PLUS

So, lmk if any of you guys would be interested - I'd like to get a TON of people from SOC over here - its like 15-20 min from the convention site

Prices are $20/person for an 8 minute session - but a discount could probably be worked out for us Saabers if enought are interested.

So, give me feedback and lmk how you guys feel.
I figured Id post here first before throwing it on SC

P.S. my manager has a '02 red viggen stage III
mmm

This sounds awsome and would be the perfect thing for the TSL crew to do as a group.

Yes. I like this idea, and the price isn't bad considering how much this trip is actually going to cost most of us.

Sweet guys - I hope most feel the same as you do.

If I can get probably say 10-15-20 people that can reply saying they are interested - I can work on working a slight discount if say 2 or 3 rides are purchased.

basically just lmk if you would DEFINETLY be interested and I will start a list.

To make it a little more clear say you could start arriving anytime around/after 6:30-7:00 @ the earliest and we close @ 11:00

Sounds like a good idea!

I have heard that there will be a SOC "party" that night though. It is to be sponsored by one of the forum members.

No, but if you're too F'd up and are being an idiot on the track then we will have to take some sort of action

is this the type of track where ther have telemetry telling us what our laptimes are?

Possible if enough are interested we could do a 30 minute race or something like that. Even though those of us in the 210 lb + area get owned, still a lot of fun!!!

I am very interested......

Good idea, but not on Friday night. Thursday, perhaps?

thursday could work however there is the opening dinner.....

plus if we happen to get enough cars for the drivers school I would not be able to make it due to that.

Yeah, I just checked the book (planning schedule) so yes thursday could work

We have transponders in the karts, so yes, after your session you get a sheet detailing all of your laptimes and the averages.

thursday is the opening dinner which usually not many SCO attendees attend. Seems like it's usually sponsors & a few other people that show up for that.

friday is when people usually hang out in the lot to do whatever (many time drinking)

thus thursday might be the better day but it doesn't matter to me

I'm good for thursday... would this even interfere with racing? Isn't that during the day?
