SOC07 drivers school, any interest?

I am just seeing if there is any interest. I talked to someone on the SOC commite & got the OK to see if there is interest from people attending SOC07. Even though these schools have not made money in the past I feel it can be done. So I am just checking to see if there is any interest.

I haven't looked into the actual costs of renting the track but my guess is it would cost $200-300 for a 2 day event which would be wed/thursday. Or a 1 day school for $100-150 ish on thursday.

please post if you would be willing to pay that money for a drivers school. The school would be setup where you would get around 90-100+ minutes of actual driving time per day.

definitely interested, assuming i have a worthy saab by then...wich i should. pricing sounds reasonable too, what tracks are around that area, just out of curiosity?

I will do it if I can make it out there for long enough time.

How far away would the track be from the main event though?

Probably costs the same as a day or two of registering for all the SOC crap anyway. I would hop on this in a heartbeat, it makes the hurting of $$$ from SOC more of a value.

I really have no clue exactly where the convention will be held just somewhere in Detroit. The guy that I was talking to on the SOC board stated the roadcoarse is about a hr away from where they were looking.

Waterford hills is 1 of the tracks & this is a video

I am not sure how close Gingerman is

I mean an hour isn't too too bad. I've driven 12 hours to tracks before (not me racing). Just part of the overall consideration.

So this would essentially be a seperate event in terms of timing, eh?

yea, it would need to be seperate from the days SOC is going on so it doesn't detract from those events.

Hey... now that's not funny... OK... yes it is I do not plan on blowing a headgasket & letting the car sits for months so that shouldn't happen. However my trans... that's a dfferent story

OK, so I think there is a little interest & I would probably need 40 ish cars to break even. I will make some calls & see what I can work out.
