MN/WI SOC caravan/planning thread

So, anyway, we have had a ferry and a caravan suggested.

I would be up for both. Thoughts?

Also Manitowoc is about one hour or so from Milwaukee.

It would seem to save a bit of distance driving around the end of the lake.

Travel times per google maps:

TC to Detroit: 687 mi (about 11 hours 52 mins)
TC to Manitouwoc: 310 mi (about 6 hours 15 mins)
TC to Milwaukee: 327 mi (about 5 hours 31 mins)
Boat from Manitowoc to Luddington: 3 hours
Milwaukee to Detroit: 397 mi (about 7 hours 2 mins)
Luddington to Detroit: 255 mi (about 4 hours 14 mins)

Just for comparing and whatnot....

Yeah!

Drivin' and boatin', and drankin' somewhere in there.

Ideal. TC to Milwaukee. Meet, grill, booze, sleep.

Next day, roll en masse up to where da boat leaves, ride boat, and drive to Detroit. Gaze wistfully at tons of saabs for a few days.

Hey now!

This is better than the typical male fear of commitment, right?

Besides, I'm busy as shit. If I don't get a few months out there, stuff does not happen!

I like the idea of caravan/convoy out to SOC through Chicago (pick up the Chicago peeps on the way). Then caravan to Ludington after SOC, and take the boat back across to Manitowoc and caravan from there to Milwalkee then the TC. This way we can relax on the way back, and hang out, since we wont be in a hurry.

Ill probably be up for any of the ideas mentioned. I think it would be cool take the drive out there and hit up the ferry, and get the best of both worlds...

Ooooo....here's an idea, if they run out of room for massive amounts of SAABs on the ferry (yeah...right ) then some people can race to the other side and whoever gets there first wins a toaster!!! Yes?!
