2 Questions: Moderators and PMs

Primarily: Are moderators on Saablink able to view members' private messages?

And minor: Are moderators on Saablink still expected to follow the forum rules?

Thanks

1. Not that I'm aware of. Ced might have such privileges but, if I have them, I have no idea of how to do so.

2. Yes. However, we're not here to be kicked, beaten, abused and otherwise mistreated more so than other members in the name of being "in charge" - whatever that means.

Yeah, it probably is allowed with the admins.

I noticed in a newer version of the forum software that NESA is using it is an option, so I assume its possible on saablink's software.

It's possible, however, there's only one guy with those kind of keys to this site. The rest of us have very, very, very limited powers.

I'm not certain why it's really an issue, though.

Kind of defeats the term "private" doesn't it? *Puts on tin foil hat*

Mods and S-Mods cannot view PMs in vB forums I believe admins can however...Not terribly sure about the last bit, I've never had Admin access to a vB forum.

Seemingly.

Also, the admin has to decide what functionality to give a site. Just because something is available doesn't mean it is enacted, if that makes sense.

lol, paranoid about something?

You must either be trying to recruit people for NESA again, or get me kicked off the moderating team.

I wish you nothing but the best of luck in your endeavors.

Shit. Crap. Shit. It costs the site at least $7,500 every time we have to recall the sniper team. Fuck.

Ha, woops.

Like I said, I was just curious because I saw it was an option in a newer version of the software we're using on our forum. No need for paranoia for NESA forum users, that version is only about 100 billion releases newer than what we are using now.

Nah, I've long considered it a hobby to really scrutinize what others hold so dear.

Also, let's be clear.

I don't really give a shit.

The only thing I know about Automotion is that Frank is quite polite while drunk (he introduced himself formally after plopping down on the lawn next to me) and that they seem to offer some sort of Kool-Aid that makes their customers loyal lapdogs because any time anyone suggests that Automotion's shit even remotely has an odor, the trolls come out of the woodwork.

That's what I've observed over the years.
