Regional Forums

I belong to another forum for a different group of cars, and one thing I like with their forum is they have a regionals section. Northeast (NY, NH, VT, MA, ME), Mid Atlantic (DE, MA, NJ, PA, WV, VA, DC), South East (AL, FL, GA KY, NC, SC, TN), Southern (AK, LA, MS, OK, TX), Mid West (CO, KA, MO, ND, NE, SD, UT, WY), South West (AZ, NM, NV, CA), Northwest (IA, WA, AK), Hawaii, and then International forums. I think this would be a great addition to the forums as a means for people to organize meets, trips to races, bbq events, tuning events, etc. Its hard to figure out where everyone is the way the forum is now, with people divided by their individual cars. Just a thought, if a mod could forward this idea up to whoever is doing coding for the website, that'd be great!

i think doing it by car is great. that way you can get the full opinions from everyone on how to fix it or what to do etc.

i think with regionals we would end up losing touch with people in other states.

They would have to be event only forums, and I dont' think people have trouble organizing events anyway. If this site was huge (like, vortex huge), it would make sense, but most people just click "new posts" and read everythign that looks interesting.

Are you aware there are like 60 subforums already?

Ass.

You could move a lot our our regional banter off the regular sections by facilitating this sort of thing.

Posting something like MN:AutoX or DC AREA:Need a Trailer would take care of a lot, though (which ya'll do already, and it seems to work).

I like how Iowa got promoted to the Northwest. You know, geography was my other low-paying career choice and the above groupings are the awesomemest!

Illinois and Rhode Island? MIA, too.

Seriously, though, I like the fact that I can meet new Saab friends from all over the country. It's kind of like having fun little pen pals. Without the stamps.

One of my suggestions is grouping into SCCNA recognized regional clubs. Like WasSaab. Others off the top of my head are NESA, NYSOC, CentralPenn ect.
