Pages too short

Why is there a new page after every 10 posts? Threads get way too many pages, way too fast. These are the days of broadband, not 56k so why such a short page loading all the time?

Vwvortex for example has 35 replies per thread before a new page. IMO sorting through many pages get annoying. Especially since I'm so lazy.

Just my $0.02, take it or leave it.

10 posts per page is the default setting. I agree that is way too short, I changed mine to 20 awhile back and I might step that up to 30. You change it in the user control panel.

yeah, i have had mine set for 40 posts per page for like a year and a half now. get with the times doods. hell, even before the software update, you could still change it.

i hate long pages, and this option makes it quite nice. but it makes it hard when someone says look at page 6 of a 14 page thread. mine is only 4 pages....

I'll bump it up to 20 by default and see how people like the change. I enabled the hybrid/ threaded view for easy reading. Saw it up on SC and thought i'd enable it here as well.

On the subject of changing stuff, could you enable receipts for PM's, so we can see when/if our PM's are opened?

Hate to jack, but I never noticed that your avatar was Riley Freeman. Great comic strip, my roommate (mulatto African-American studies major) was obsessed with it. He turned me on to it, and at first I thought it was some radical political cartoon... Soon I grew to love it.

Yea I think the show is genius. I used to overlook the comic but now I look for it.

Personally, I like 10 posts per page. I guess I'll have to change mine back.

I HATE having to scroll, and scroll and scroll in order to read new posts in a thread. I'll quick read a thread, and then move on. I like being able to flick my mouse twice be at the bottom and go to the next page.

On other forums with 25 posts per page, if there is a new post, and it's the 19th post on the page, I need to flick my mouse wheel 5-6 times just to get to the new post, which is really annoying when people post once every 5-10 mins in the thread, thats a lot of scrolling.

That and (this is what pisses me off about Vbulletin) is there is no freaking forum breadcrumb at the BOTTOM of the threads. I have to scroll back to the top of the thread to go back to the forum.

IE:
The Saab Link Forums > Welcome to The Saab Link > Feedback and Suggestions
Pages too short Pages too short

phpBB2 and other forum softwares are nice because they have the breadcrumb at the top AND bottom of threads. So when you get done reading the thread, you can just click back to the forum, or the home etc.

There is a forum jump scroll box at the bottom... But I agree, the breadcrumb would be nice...

Oh, and can someone PLEASE change the default for the general forums and showoff forums to show more than just threads from the past day.

if you've been gone for more than a day, you have to select "threads from the past month" or something else every freaking time to see all the threads you missed.

Amish, I just use the New Posts link that shows up under your avatar on the home page.

I like this 20 posts per page, I always thought the 10 was a little weaksauce but never bothered to poke through the UserCP to see if I could alter it.
