there is so much good info available via msg boards that many people read and read and get most of what they need without ever having to ask a question.

i think i might be one of those 'inactive' members (with a different user name, originally signed up then forgotten pass/email). i am, of course, also an active member (some of you have seen the trouble i have been through)

Whats the minimum a user has to do to be classed as active? 1 post a month? 1 login? Just curious is all.

Edit: Just realised its a year since I joined and only a mere 166 posts. Definitely need to pick up my game

Fact:
We have more registered members then Saab Run currently.
We are part of http://saabs.net

54.11% of the registered members are considered active.

also - if a "member" has had 0 posts for 1 year, we e-mail that indivisual and inform thm that they have been inactive at their SaabLink account and it may be deleted if they don't respond. Who agrees?

i dont think deleting is necessary. i'm a member of several auto forums saab and non. one cool thing i saw was on rx7club.com. instead of deleting you they send you a message saying:

"We've noticed that you've not been active on RX7Club.com for quite some time now, and we miss you! The rotary community on RX7Club.com is bigger and better than ever, and with recent software and server upgrades the site is much faster and enjoyable to use. We know that people are busy, but why not come back and become a part of the community again."

a nice friendly reminder of things going on and your personal account. they also include your user name and password. just in case you "forgot". this has a nice professional touch to it and i would like to see this forum represent itself in the same fashion.

just my 2 cents!

deleteing is not needed. like Blaque said some people use it just as a reference. Also if they aren't posting they are just adding to the member count and not taking up any servers space or Mods time. I think they would be the sites favorite people...

Whats the count now?

Also....

Is there anyway a mod/admin could get me a list of WI, IA, IL, MN, MI Saabers for my (Upper) Midwest GTG. I did a member search with the basic search but I know the mods could prolly one up any of my attempts. Anyway to search members not listing a state or popular city but located in those states?

Thanks in advance!

Dylan

2468 ACTIVE Users - and a Whopping 5105 Registered Members as of Thursday May 20th. 2010

I consider a member active as long as they have 2 posts or more - I can't break down the list into how often/when last posts was (that would be too useful) lol

Saab Central (for comparison) Members: 43,321, Active Members: 3,884

I was thinking the same when i posted that. If they weren't banning US Saab Folk back in late 2003 this forum may not have exisited lol. Guess it was a great outcome. i used to be on SC ALL the time until that all went down. Oh well - times change I guess.
