Regional Event Forums

I know this was discussed previously, however I don't recall the outcome.

After adding the SOC specific forum, I was wonder if everyone would like to have forums for specific geographical areas (i.e., Northeast, Midwest, South, Southwest, Northwest.. or similar).

Yes but have them under a designated larger category - this way its not a total pain in the ass for somone who might be living in say New England - to see whats going on over in CNY if they live out there or go to school there or something. Ya know?

either way it will make it a PITA and cause way more sections when you click on forums. I like it simple. Why complicate things?

agreed. The soc forum is a good idea because everybody from all over usually wants or plans to go and there are usually more then a few threads pertaining to it.

ced, i love the idea and suggested it a while ago.
it would make things like weekly, or monthly GTG's a lot easier too.

Actually, these regional forums will only be visible when your inside the Events forum. Listed underneath where the current SOC forum is.

As far as making it harder to search for events.. all posts are listed in the "New Posts" search that most people use. So when the topic comes up.. everyone will see it.

I don't like it. What's wrong with the old way? If the threads are posted correctly, like the Ohio Meet, what's the problem? You can tell by the subject if it is close to you.
I don't use NEW POSTS anymore since you switched to this much better forum software where I can collapse all the forums I don't visit. That is why your NEW POSTS button got so popular.
