Post Air Intake on 99 9-3

I was going to be installing a new air intake on my 1999 Saab 9-3. What i was going to do was basically use flex tube to kinda build my own so that the air filter would be in the front of the car (down below the headlights). I was wondering if anyone has any experience in doing this, or any tips?

See above... and unless you are exceeding 300HP, there's no advantage.

If you want to do it, cut the snout off the stop box, fit a 3" pipe fitting of some sort (PVC works), and run a 3" aftermarket air cleaner hose down to the area behind the headlight - no lower. Add a K&N filter if you want to hear more turbo noise.

there's really no advantages to a "cold air" (running it down below the headlight) intake on a turbo car
the air coming in will get heated up by the turbo anyways, so all you're doing is risking sucking up water

just modify your airbox, or remove it and add a cone filter in the place of the airbox
