stage 3 tune questions

I had tons of codes coming up. then i unplugged the battery and put the stock ecu in. made sure no codes or check engine came up. re installed the stage 3 ecu and took it for a drive no check engine no problems. boost is barely hitting 15psi at wot. casey said it would be more around 20.

Im not sure if he had sent me the right ecu tune. As i have all the supporting mods as a b205r which at stage 3 is around 290hp. Thiers no way im close to that.

The stage 3 ecu he sent is b205L , i hope i don't have a stage 3 ecu for the b205l. (cause that would be for a gt17) and i have a td04 15t. Ive been calling casey to ask him but have gotten no reply.

FWIW, Casey missed the recent Milwaukee meet due to a family emergency.

I got a tune from him last week... he rushed to get it out and mentioned that he wasn't going to be around this week.

Did you make an adaptation run?

Disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes. Reconnect it, then make the car hit WOT in all gears. Do it twice if you can.

Are you t7 ? Make sure your bcv is working. I'm at stage 3+ and mine quit on me and I would just see 15psi and the car felt lame. I thought my tune was bad.

I used to have an Nordic stage 3 tune....

It would always take a good 10 or so WOT runs in 3rd to get it going again....

Check you base boost output ...

You would want like 7-8lb base boost. (I think)... lolz

A tune that is set up correctly would idealy need no adaption run as the boost cal should have been set in the tune to allow the correct pwm to the charge air control valve at first full throttle. It shouldnt need adaption to go up 5 psi boost. Boost cal should be able to hit within 30-40 mg/c with adaption turned off.

Having said that can you read mrequest and mair in sid or does casey not do open sid? This will tell u if your tunes hitting its mark. A stage 1 even on a gt17 would go to 15 psi so something seems not right
Cheers

Looked all day for a bcv valve in gibsons yard in neenah wi, they all seem to be gone lol.
Casey does do the open sid !! Im very unsure on what to look for on the sid screen to calculate if it is tuned properly or if something is wrong.
I had casey delete the rear o2 but it still comes up under cel.

im trying a new o2 sensor today to see if that will help at all.
last time i check my fuse for 38 was blowen =(

well here i go to tinker with my snabby sabby

Did you find anything good at Gibsons? They've crushed nearly all the 9000's.

If rear O2 is turned off it can still throw codes, u need to disconnect it at its connector and leave it unplugged. This will stop it throwing codes.
If you scroll through the sid menu there is 2 values next to each other one is
MReq: which is air value requested by the ecu in mg per combustion and
MAir : which is air measured by the maf that the engine is actually getting.
These 2 should be almost identical +- 50 mg/c
Go test it and get back to us
Hope it helps

Pull the R hose off your apc valve which is the top one and block it with the hose with a bolt. Now go for another run and see if its rectified

We had a chance to talk and decided ill send another ECU out Monday to at least rule that out.

And ya I do apologize that I've been real slow to respond lately. My wife's grandma passed away recently and we also just got from vacation where there was zero phone/Internet access. Feels like I've been out of the loop for a long time already, lol. It's time to get back into the swing of things.

MReq is at 1100 so ecu is requesting lots of air about 1.1 bar
MAir is at 700 something so its only got base boost. So it would either be evap valves blocking apc valve (removing hose as I described would check that) or a faulty apc valve. 99% of the cases it would be either of these scenarios not an ecu problem

last aero thank you for your help !!
Im pulling cel p1460 and p1141
I dont want to do any pulls with a o2 problem ( as it seems unsafe) any thoughts about that o2 problem. Ive got 3-4 o2s i can try all the same and pretty new

Would placement of the o2 matter on the down pipe ? I have it like 3-4 inches away from the turbo.

Ill have to check these valves out !
going tinkering !

No worries buddy. P1141 should be a heating circuit fault for 2nd oxy. You say its turned off in the tune if so disconnect its connector at the thermostat and clear the fault. See if it returns if so check the fuse in the dashboard fuse panel as it can blow if the heat circuit is faulty.
I would have no concern doing a pull with a oxy fault since the o2 has no input at Wot as it is masked over a certain airflow. However u could run into trouble if it had adapted negatively which is highly unlikely. But If you warm the engine up with a bit of normal driving then reset ecu by pulling battery lead for 2 mins then go for a drive at wot it will be fine.
