UNICHIP

i was wondering if anyone is running a unichip..Just got back from the performance specialist at a local shop..He suggested a few things. There is a dyno at another place neer me and once i get some more mods get a unichip which is fully programible for your setup. Air/fuel, timing, boost control, factory cut off point....best thing is its only $400 plus the price of dyno runs.

First thing is making custom cold air intake and gettin turbo back exhaust..
(does anyone with t5 run with no cat. if so do you get a check eng. light)
(does anyone make a bypass for the 2nd o2 sensor so its not read)

Then Front mount viggen intercooler and upgrading internals of t25-t28...
(does anyone know where to get this done and how much they charge.)

tell me what you guys think and if your running any sort of same setup...

ill keep you posted

Actually I was looking to do the same. Where could look into more about this Unichip, because I know alot about Air Fuel Ratios and would rather do my own programming.

Right now I am running catless, and the CEL stays on. I heard that when you upgrade your ECU (say with Maptun or such), they can make it so your CEL doesn't come on in absence of a cat.

As for as upgrading the T25 to a T-28, its probably best to ask a company like Turbonetics that do turbo rebuilds.

i highly doubt that the unichip has the capability to handle what the t5 and especially the t7 do. First off i thin the main reason it will not be able to work is becuase of direct injection. It is unique to saabs and highly doubtful that it can deal with that. Im sure there are other reasons that this wont work, the t7 and t5 are just too complex.

i talked to the guy at the performance shop today that does the unichip. definatly does work on saabs. there is an application for it. im not sure of t7 i was just inquiering about my t5. there are so many capabilities with it. so much more than an aftermarket ecu...its not programmable by yourself, they have to do it..it also can come with 2 settings. a race, and regular....basically you tell them what you want out of your car..i wll run boost high as i can and have it on the dyno while he tunes it..once max curve is shown, thats where its at. also it can support running extra injectors or larger ones....i see it asa the way to go...

inexpensive..
tuning would be excelent....

ill let you know how it goes...
