USP Drag Racing with a Saab, Qualified first

Had a fun day running the Saab in the first USP Pro Sport Compact series race, finally made it to the end and got a trophy and some cash and had a great time doing it. Ended up getting beat by a very fast Honda when our right CV joint broke coming out of the hole in the final.

Nice to actually make it to the end for a change

John

Very impressive...the time, dedication, and perseverance involved in accomplishing something like this is nothing short of awesome. In working out the bugs on my DD stg 5-6 I've really come to appreciate just how much it takes to pull this kinda thing off. Lots of set-backs to test your will...
to you sir!

That poor tranny is a full on Quiafe racing 6 speed with straight cut gears, they do not break no matter how hard you race them, that is what they are made for and the design is awesome, you can pull the whole tranny apart in about 20 minutes, no pressed bearings like the stock one, no special gear pullers needed. Its designed to be serviced at the track and its an awesome set up with a 62mph first gear and then the rest of them are all right behind each other, no drop in rpm in second gear, right back into the sweet spot in every gear !

What's the estimated top speed of the trans? Is it capable of your future 8.90 @ 160/70 ish?

I am on the rev limit in 5th gear now at 7800rpm, 6th only has maybe another 10mph in it, so there is a little more, but not 170mph without a larger tire.
