Trans swap possible?

I was curious if it was possible to do a transmission swap on the 1997 900 SE, from Auto to Manual of course. I am about 21, also about to hopefully get this job thing lined up where I will be aquiring money which I could fulfill what I see my car as, new errything. Rims, Tires, Suspension, sways, harness, pillar and roof recarpeting. Before doing much power upgrades I wanted to see if the swap is possible; how to get whats needed, etc. Then do an exhaust system upgrade to 3", upgrade intercooler then turbo and such. Any help would benefit my idiocracy. any input welcome

Thanks,
Ryan.

IIRC, you'll need the transmission, manual flywheel, clutch disc and pressure plate, all the bits for a cable-actuated or hydraulic clutch, clutch pedal, the shift housing, the shifter assembly, the manual tranny mount, and an ECU from a manual car. (Although you might just be able to reprogram your existing one)

Just remove the TCU and the ECU will switch to manual ECU maps.

I changed my Honda Accord from Auto to Manual - it was by far the most miserable job I have ever done.

I would never ever ever ever do it again.

Trust me, sell your car and buy one with a manual in it.

You would be better off finding a car that already has the mods done too!

Seconded.

There is so much shit I've done that, in hindsight, I now realize I was nuts to even try.
