1994 Saab 900se turbo. Just got it out when the Viggen was put away. Well, it won't be driven in snow, but I do like the cold weather on occasion with the Viggen. You know how turbos like the cold.

I have to admit that the 900 has seen better days. Rust is extreme at this point. So much so that I just covered it with a bad puddy job until I can get the whole car re-painted.

I'd post a recent photo, but I don't want anyone to see it. Here's an old one...

Check the knobbies on it. I'm going to get th same tires this year. "Winter force" excellent tire for snow and I got four good years out of them.

Rockin' my year-round '03 9-5 Arc on no-seasons. But, hey, its southern Indiana, we may get nothing, or completely shit on with snow...if that happens I'll borrow the 4WD Suburban. lol

My 2002 saab viggen is my winter car. Lets face it, these cars are pretty much going to be worthless so I could really care less what happens to it now. Ok, maybe not worthless.
I just don't see what the point is in storing a saab over the winter, I mean it's just a saab and it's an everyday driver.

Well, I understand what you're saying but disagree to some extent.

It all depends on how you look at it. Yes, a run of the mill 9-3 or 9-5 is a great daily driver, and lots are. However a Viggen/Turbo X/any other special edition/something you modified to hell and stuck a ton of money into I think deserves a little more care.

I won't drive my Viggen in winter because there aren't enough left to take one that's a pretty good example of a nice one and ruin it... But to each his own.

My Dad agrees with you though. A car is a car. Which is why the sales people at the European Dealership he keeps buying his cars at make this face everytime he buys a car and says "yeah that's what I'm going to drive every day. The last one was his '99 996 Convertible (back in '01), then he had a few in the middle that weren't anything "special" and now it's his '09 SL550 Sport... And yes, he does add snow tires and drive them in winter. Then again he don't keep them more than a few years either.

I drive the same two Saabs year round: winter, spring, autumn and summer. I have no idea why on earth you would want a separate/different car just for Winter here. I also run the same tyres year round! Don't know of anyone here who would run diff tyres!

2002 9-3 Aero
1988 900 Aero

First day of Summer here today and it has already been over 38C (100F) yesterday!
