Cost effective upgrades

What are the best and most cost efficient power upgrades for the 99-02 saab 2.0? Also what are the best ways to enhance the sound of the turbo, both spooling and blowoff? Thanks folks

Most cost effective? A set of new plugs, properly gapped.

You don't say whether you have an S or an SE model. That's an important distinction.

Cheapest way to enhance turbo sound is to remove the sound-deadening blanket over the engine. Next would be an open air intake.

.
Mike is right,, the best thing you can do as a first step is a full "stage 0" tune up, with plugs, trans fluid, fuel filter, and vac lines.

I think 99 is a T-5 so if you have a T-5 you could buy a 100 dollar forge blow off valve and that will make cool loud noises , don't try it with a T-7 if you have a T-7 go with the intake after you get some ngk plugs, silicon vacuum lines and an oil change to continue with the good advice of the previous posters

You need to ID what year 9-3 and what motor (8th digit of your VIN. N or H, P or K).

Then you need to stop concentrating on kuel sounds and concentrate on actual performance.

For that matter you could just vent the stock BPV to atmosphere for <$1....

^ what he said, to inifinity.

What do you want.... something that 'sounds' great, or something that pounds a Mustang into the ground?

Lol I want both which is why I asked both questions. It's a 99 SE with N engine. Already done the "stage 0" mod. Just looking to have a little fun with her now. Thanks!
