Just picked it up

Picked this up an hour from home for $500

Reverse is out, but it still runs down the road great.

I am wanting to modify it a little bit, for those "moments" when power is needed, a friend of mine is giving me an aftermarket BOV, since mine is shot, and going to try and help me get a TD05H(?) turbo to replace mine, he also suggested putting an N/A transmission for the longer gear ratio, pairing that with the DSM TD05H(?) I should be able to get longer spooled pulls.

I could always use more insight, and advice, what I seek now is a good trusted intake and exhaust system, I don't mind loud, while I do mind obnoxious, I just want thm both substantially opened up more than stock, think stage 2 (borderline stage3).

She is a bit of a mess ATM, I plan to detail her up here soon.

Let me know what you guys think.

Spend two or three hours a day for a few days reading here and at saabcentral.com. After you're done you will know what to do. You're on a few wrong tracks.

I think the NA trans' are actually shorter. Welcome though! Can't hardly go wrong for $500, and a 111k mile straight 3-door is cool for sure; 111k miles is barely broke-in as long as they changed the oil. You'll be happy with how tough these engines are bone stock. I believe yours should have a B204 as an fyi while you're reading.

Bob & Drew, I owned an '87 SPG a few years back, but never did any tuning, I love this one however, and would love to learn more, I will deffienetly hold any plans till I get a more broad understanding for them, they have been in my life for most of it (heavy Swedish household) but never knew much about them, other than I wanted one.

sevier, The Steering wheel is just fine by me, comfortable, and it turns the car where I want it.

Thanks guys

Although the 94' steering wheels do indeed suck, that doesn't look like one of those. Changed?

N/A trans is indeed shorter.
You're looking for an earlier NG900 Turbo trans, <=1998 for long gears IIRC

great pickup and welcome.

very first thing you should do is get the car to stage 0. once you have a solid stage 0 (verified no sludge, everything works as good or better than new) then think about upgrades. you will thank me for this later i promise you.

like they said though. cant go wrong for a running driving vehicle for $500

94 used the same steering wheel as a 9000.

I like mine, but would rather have a sport wheel from a 9-3 or 9-5. I do not like the 3 spoke wheel but I suppose I am biased. I actually think it is a neat tell-tell of a 1994 car.

Can't go wrong for $500.

I was expecting a very beat & lappard car. This appears to be in decent shape, congrats.

Wow, low miles. What a bargain.

Leave the turbo box in it.The turbo gears are the longer gears.

Give it a service if it hasn't had one for a while.

5w40 full synthetic motor oil.

gearbox: in my opinion Pennzoil syncromesh or royal purple sycromax (2 quarts)

Plugs:NGK BCPR7ES-11.(Stock tune) Gap the plugs to 1mm.

I think you have a Garrett T-25 on that.

Up grade the gearbox selector mechanism to the later 97 model when you get a chance.

Looks like you got a good car

Awesome buy. To give you an idea of how long the gears are (with a JZW tune that gave me a 7k redline): I could make 110 in third and I believe 2nd put me around 60ish. I never topped out 4th much less 5th.

Welcome!

Lost Internet, sorry.

Thank you all for the welcomes, I have plans for this little car, and found a gem soon after posting this initial thread, I'll take pictures of the motor in the morning, I was shocked when I got a chance to look in there, promise no bad news.
