Something different.
Well I guess I should make a build thread.
This will be being completed over the course of the next month, and Im going to try to take as many photos as possible. Also, forgive me for my probably bad forum etiquette. Here we go: My 1999 9-3 Base. ![]() I wanted more power. So I got in touch with Sean Forney at DriftTough.com, and he got me the ISIS RS3871 (Journal version of the gt2871, and carries an excellent warranty). Its sold as being used for an SR20, so It bolts up to our cars. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The only thing I had to supply was oil lines and coolant lines, and a GT style return. This turbo requires 3AN feed, and even came with the 3AN banjo. It uses 14mm banjo coolant. For the DP, it uses 5 bolt sr style. Since it has a seperate wastegate port , I took advantage of the fact that I love VTA ewgs and screamer pipes, so got this ISIS dump elbow, for 46 shipped on fleabay. ![]() ![]() With this, I will be using a custom 3 inch, two piece downpipe. Stay tuned, More to come! Its a waiting game for me now, for the mail and UPS to bring my stuff. I ordered a 3 bar map, GS Manifold spacer, 2 new manifold gaskets, Deka #60s, a Walbro GSS341, a AEM UEGO, and some other misc exhaust and intercooler piping. And am ordering a Stage 6 tune, soon. The ISIS turbo, It may be cheap, but read up on Zilvia, and the SR guys love this turbo. Also, Sean from DriftTough is a stand up guy, and will stand by what He sells. People who order from EnjukuRacing.com also state that they have "run the turbo hard for 5 months, it started smoking, and they overnighted me a new one". And at a small sum of less than 500 dollars, it fit well into my budget. DriftTough.com Stay tuned!;ol; Last edited by We_sleigh; 02-23-2012 at 10:28 AM. |

I'd measure the diameter of the compressor side against a GT30 to see whether you might need a manifold spacer. To avoid any delays in fabbing up the system, it might make sense to buy one just in case, then sell it if you don't need it.
EDIT:...just re-read your parts list...carry on. ![]() ![]() |

It's about time someone started using a new turbo. I've always wanted to try a Precision turbo (yes I know Nick's already done that but no one else has). There's got to be some options between the 19t, holsets, and gt30/35's that shouldn't be that difficult to figure out.

^this
fuel economy will shoot up if you're a tame driver i went from averaging 17-20mpg around town (stg4) to 24mpg with my gt30 maybe my driving habits changed a little, but only to match the lag of the gt30

I still feel like even though full power will lag, you'll still have way more power than stock 2500rpm probably only notice when trying to pass someone in 5th gear at 55mph
