Ebay Intercoolers (I know it's been beaten to death)

So I've been looking at intercoolers as my next upgrade to the Viggen, and naturally, the low prices of these ebay brand coolers has caught my attention. Everyone says their bar/plate ones flow great, which apparently they do, but the reason is due to a lack of "turbulators" they use for packing inside the intercooler itself so it's like air flowing through a straight pipe. Of course it will flow well.

In terms of cooling, I came by many tests, one of them being Nick T's showing that intake temperatures can rise as high as 50*F after a pull. The ETS only generates 10*F more. So they flow well, but clearly aren't as good of a heatsink as I thought they were. My question now is, has anyone done any tests to compare to the stock Viggen intercooler? There have been flow tests done so I'm more concerned about how much the intake temps rise after a couple gear pulls in comparison to either the ETS or the stock intercooler.

My Ebay bar and plate type DOES have fins on the inside of the bars. That said, mine works quite well. The hot side will get quite warm and the exhaust side will be ambient after several pulls. And BTW, when I get on boost my IAT's will drop considerably. Driving around town gently yields highest IAT's...

My ebay bar and plate is also good stuff. Intake air temps used to be around 25-30 degrees or more above ambient with just regular driving. Now they hover around 15 degrees above ambient. Heat soak is much less of a concern during high-boost driving.

Heres my install thread
